Applying for Permission
In eDesigner, the account for login and the method of applying for permission are the same as those in SCT.
Functions available to channel partners vary before and after login:
 Before login: Only Enterprise Storage Network Assistant, Cloud Storage Network Assistant, and
TCO/ROI Analysis Tool are available.
 After login: Use all functions of eDesigner platform.

Channel partner roles include:

 User:
1. Apply for a uniportal account at Huawei official website.
2. Log in to UIPM and apply for organization association.
 Administrator:
1. Approve organization association applications in UIPM.
2. Submit SCT permission applications for users in UIPM.

Accessing eDesigner - Entry
Three entries are provided for accessing eDesigner:
 Entry 1: Visit eDesigner official website.

 Entry 2: Search for Huawei eDesigner in Baidu or Google.

 Entry 3: Visit Huawei's official website, and choose Partners > Partner Zone > Pro-sales Toolkit >
Solution Design Tool UniSTAR eDesigner.

Designing a Solution – Set the Parameters
eDesigner provides wizard-based design steps. You will complete a solution design in 3 steps. This document
uses Agile Campus Network Solution as an example to illustrate the solution design process.

Designing a Solution – Select Products
Click Next or Select Products. The Select Products page is displayed. Set device model and part

related parameters.

Designing a Solution – Finish Design
Click Finish or Finish Design. The Finish Design page is displayed. On this page, you can view the
4 existing requirements, planned capacities, product selection information, and solution configuration
result.

Designing a Solution - Exporting the Product List
On the Finish Design page, product list can be exported in Chinese and English. In the
product list, you can view the product name, quantity, and configuration information. You can
also check the user requirement, capacity planning, and product selection information.
1 On the Finish Design page, click Export Product List.

2 Select a language for exporting the device list. Click Export and export the product list to an Excel file.

Designing a Solution - Submitting Solutions to SCT
You can submit a solution to SCT for configuration and quotation. To submit to SCT, you
must have eDesigner configuration quotation permission.
1 On the Finish Design page, click Submit to SCT.

Note:
 Presales, restricted or user-defined devices cannot be imported to SCT. You can use substitutes or contact
the Huawei channel manager.
 For the Storage Configuration Guide and Video Cloud solutions, you can click Submit to SCT to submit solutions to SCT
for quotation.
 After Enterprise Cloud Communications solutions are submitted to SCT, quotations can be generated by site.

2 Enter information about the archived solution. Click Yes. eDesigner automatically archives the solution
and then submits it to SCT.

Designing a Solution - Generating the Technical Proposal
Technical proposals for DR, Enterprise Cloud Communications, and Storage Configuration Guide
(OceanStor 9000) can be customized according to the scenario you specify. Multiple design reports can be
generated for the IVS solution depending on the functions you select. This topic uses FusionCube VDI as an
example.

1 On the Finish Design page, click Export TP. A Word technical proposal is generated.

2 Open and view the technical proposal.

Designing a Solution - Exporting the Topology with One Click
1 Choose Enterprise Networking > Bid Assistant > Typical Topology Generation Tool.

2 Select a scenario and preview the topology.

3 Click Export Topology.

For Education Industry Solution Technical Proposal, Medical Service Industry Solution Technical Proposal,
Enterprise Industry Solution Technical Proposal, E-government Industry Solution Technical Proposal,
Transportation Industry Solution Technical Proposal, and General Industry Solution Technical Proposal,
you can download by one click and generate industry solution technical proposals by chapter. This document uses
Education Industry Solution Technical Proposal as an example to illustrate how to download industry solution
technical proposals.
Choose Enterprise Networking > Bid Assistant > Education Industry Solution Technical Proposal

from the main menu.

2 Select a scenario and then select chapters to be retained.

3 Click Export TP to generate and export technical proposals.

Designing a Solution - Calculating WLAN APs
With eDesigner WLAN AP Counter, the number of WLAN APs to be deployed can be quickly calculated by
simply entering some requirements.

1 Choose Enterprise Networking > Bid Assistant > WLAN AP Counter from the main menu.

2 Set parameters such as area, online users, and required bandwidth per user to fast calculate the
number of WLAN APs to be deployed.

Sharing Solutions
To exchange solution design results, you can share a solution with others.

1 On the My Solutions tab, select the solution to be shared and click Share.

Note:
 After selecting multiple solutions,
you can click Share to batch
share solutions.
 Clicking behind a solution will
only share the solution.

2 Enter the email box or account of the user you want to share with and click Share.

Note:
 After a solution is shared, eDesigner will
automatically send an email to you and the
user you share with.
 After a solution is shared, the email box of
the user you share with will be
automatically added to the contact for later
use.
