1.OBJECT
This document completes administrative norme B20 0110 "SUPPLY OF PARTS OR ASSEMBLIES – GENERAL
REQUIREMENTS".
It concerns products subjected to heavy wear, difficult to manufacture or with fine adjustment, in cases where the
usual documents such as drawings, administrative normes etc. … are not able to give an adequate definition of the
requirements laid down, or when they are not formalised.
In these cases a “Product Approval Specification”, called SPA, is drawn up, which characterises a product coming
from a defined supplier.

2.APPROVAL PROCESS
It comprises the following stages:
2.1 Communication by the supplier
• Of the exact reference number of the material used,
• Of the tests carried out and the results obtained
• Of the tolerances which it is capable of providing in mass production
2.2 Examination of the proposed product (material, dimensions, appearance, etc ..) and of the supplier’s report.
2.3 Rig test, on vehicle, on machine etc for the product, to which it has been previously submitted with favourable
examination.
2.4 Establishing the SPA using characteristics of the product which have satisfied the examination (§ 2.2) and
tests (§2.3)
The tolerances are set according to the supplier
2.5 Application of the SPA
Official release and issue within the PSA group, as well as to the supplier concerned.

3.PRODUCT CONFORMITY
The products supplied must conform not only with the requirements of the SPA, but also to those of other
documents (normes, administrative normes, drawings …).
However, in the case where specific values are mentioned in the SPA, these values take precedence over those
shown in the other documents.

4.CONNECTION SPA/PRODUCT CONCERNED – CONFIDENTIALITY


The reference number of this administrative norme and that of the SPA are linked with the reference numbers of
the other documents defining the product concerned, in order to group together all the requirements concerning it.
The arrangement made in the connection, particularly at drawing level, to keep confidential the name of the supply,
to whom any SPA is a specific, as regards the other manufacturers.
