Teaching with Jolly Phonics begins with
learning the 42 letter sounds.
Getting As the programme progresses, the other 4 key
skills are taught. Once children have learnt the

What is Jolly Music?

Jolly Music is based on the tried and tested principles of Hungarian composer and music
educator Zoltán Kodály. Using this philosophy, Cyrilla Rowsell and David Vinden, both
experienced practitioners and teachers of the Kodály method, have developed the Jolly
Music programme, a progressive and structured music curriculum.
