INTRODUCTION
Applicable to: ALL

2
This CDL is based on the MCDL section of the A330-343 AFM, Revision date 19Jul16.
Note: As the CX CDL is only revised based on AFM revision with impact on MCDL section, the
AFM date may not correspond to the most recent AFM revision. Revision management

controlled by FOP TM(A).
Operation of the aircraft without certain secondary airframe and engine parts is possible as indicated
in this Configuration Deviation List (CDL). Any part not included in this list must be considered as
necessary.
It is important to repair the aircraft at the first airport where repairs or replacements may reasonably
be made, since additional malfunctions may require the aircraft to be taken out of service.
Letter (m) associated to an item indicates that some maintenance action is necessary to permit flight
with these parts missing. Refer to the related section of the Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM) for
this information.
When a maintenance action requires high speed tape application, it is necessary to check before
each flight that the tape is still in position and in good condition.
The Configuration Deviation List (CDL) is based on the Flight Manual (FM) MCDL and covers
missing components that affect aircraft performance. The revision cycle of this CDL will follow the FM
Appendix MCDL and the provisions of the CDL are NO less restrictive to the Appendix MCDL of the
AFM.
The company has established CDL rectification intervals (RI) for engineering planning purposes.
Rectification intervals are indicated at the top of each item as 'Interval: X'. The CDL rectification
interval category definitions are identical to those used in the MEL:
Category A : Items in this category shall be rectified within the time interval specified in the
provisos.
Category C : Items in this category shall be rectified within ten (10) consecutive calendar days,
excluding the day of discovery.

GENERAL
INTRODUCTION
A330-343
CONFIGURATION DEVIATION LIST

Category D : Items in this category shall be rectified within sixty (60) consecutive calendar
days, excluding the day of discovery.
The Commander will be notified of each operation with a missing part(s) by listing the missing part(s)
in the Maintenance Log. The Maintenance Engineer will list in the Maintenance Log an appropriate
notation covering the missing part(s).
DEFERRED DEFECT CODES:
Deferred defect codes are indicated at the top of the page. The CDL ADD code definitions are
identical to those used in the MEL:
[P] : Identifies items with a performance limitation or an effect on aircraft utilization.
All P items which are deferred must be transferred to the yellow Performance ADD Maintenance
Log page.
When a PADD is entered or removed, the item must be communicated to HKG Flight Dispatch
HKGOWCX and copied to HKGWWCX, HKGMMCX, HKGWNCX and HKGXEXH.
[S] : Identifies a Significant ADD. All S items which are deferred must be transferred to the
grey Significant ADD page of the Maintenance Log. SADDs are defined as:
‐ Requiring Verification, Inspection or Maintenance before each flight as detailed in the
CDL.
‐ Having a sector or flight time limitation in either the CDL or AMM.
‐ Being the subject of a "CX Maintenance Concession."
‐ Affecting normal transit servicing.
When a SADD is entered or removed, the item must be communicated to HKGOWCX, and copied
to HKGWWCX, HKGMMCX, HKGWNCX and HKGXEXH.
Note: 1. The sign “-” in “Quantity installed” column indicates that the quantity is variable.
2. The illustrations included in this MCDL are given only for information to facilitate
location of missing items and must not be considered as approved data.
3. Items numbering is used for item identification only. As a consequence it may appear
some gaps in the item numbering sequence of a given aircraft. In such a case,
completeness of the MCDL may be checked by referring to the LEDU.

GENERAL
LIMITATIONS
A330-343
CONFIGURATION DEVIATION LIST

LIMITATIONS
Applicable to: ALL

No more than one part of one system may be missing except if otherwise specified. Parts of different
systems may be simultaneously missing, unless otherwise specified in this list.
When missing part introduces additional limitation(s), this limitation is indicated in the dispatch
condition of the item of this list. This limitation comes in addition to the ones of the LIMITATIONS
chapter of this AFM. This limitation must be clearly indicated by a placard on the pilot's instrument
panel.
When an MCDL dispatch condition refers to the MEL, the minimum number of equipment required for
dispatch is the most limiting of the two documents.

PERFORMANCE PENALTIES
Applicable to: ALL

Performance penalties are cumulative unless specific penalties for particular combinations of missing
items are indicated.
These takeoff, en route and landing penalties apply to the most limiting corresponding weight.
If performance penalties are not indicated for removed items, no more than three of such items can
be missing without taking further penalty. If more than three of such items are missing together, the
following performance penalties are applicable per additional missing item:
‐ Takeoff and approach climb performance limiting weights are reduced by 50 kg
‐ En route performance limiting weight is reduced by 120 kg (i.e. corresponding to a 60 ft decrease
of en route net ceiling).
