I. BACKGROUND

Name of the Company

MaSunsamEat is heartened by the word “masansamit” which means delicious. “Sun” and

“Eat” are also the root of its derivation as it relates to the proponents’ showcased products.

Proponents came up with this company name because the business wants to attract customers by

captivating their inquisitiveness and serve them with a delightful experience that they want to

have. Furthermore, proponents also believe that MaSunsamEat as a business name grasp the

appetite of its target customers.

Business Concept

A soft toasted bun, crispy cool lettuce, sweet vine-ripened tomatoes, and in the middle of

it all is a juicy seasoned beef patty. Widely hailed as “America’s favorite food,” hamburgers can

be found everywhere such that at the drive-through windows of fast food chains, and on the

menus of the restaurants that results of over fifty billion burgers eaten every single year in

America alone.

Today hamburgers can be found in nearly every part of the world. Over time the concept

has evolved that the days of simple cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, and ketchup has long

gone. The industry is currently relishing an era of gourmet burgers and endless flavour profiles

where meat patties are decorated with an endless variety of creative, tasty toppings and sides

according to that country's taste. In countries like India, where beef is not part of the traditional

Hindu diet, potato patties called Aloo Tikki are popular. In Mexico, they put much emphasis on

bacon and cheese.

With these differences, the company decided to have a trip on these different countries by

introducing to our customers the variety of burgers from these different places. The company

offers flavors from India, Mexico, America, Italy, and Philippines. In addition, the company

prepared a menu that will give each customer the choice to enjoy our burgers and never get tired

and will also introduce promo bundles from these flavors. And to make them feel that their

traveling from places, the booth would be a yacht-styled decorated with stuff that would make

them feel like a tourist and not just an ordinary customer.

Mission statement

The MaSunsamEat aims to bring everyone to different countries of the world through the

taste of their own burgers which represent their personalities, experiences, and culture. We aim

to sail on different tongues which can understand the beauty of variety.

Vision Statement

The MaSunsamEat envisions every customer to be able to appreciate the taste that each

country could bring. The appreciation that will enable them to love and accept the differences

between cultures, and nations. And thus, in the future, we might able to bring everyone to love

and respect the taste that every country offers.

The MaSunsamEat envisions to provide delicious, seasonal food and a fun atmosphere

that will bring customers back again and again.

The Leader is responsible in overseeing the jobs and works of each member, supervising

the department heads, leading and guiding the members on their jobs, holding all the

transactions, and valuing the efforts and goals of all the members.

The Secretary is in-charge in doing the paper works of the business, receiving and

distributing documents necessary for the business, providing consolidated report of the different

departments, reminding the group and the members regarding the given tasks, creating summary

of meetings, and assisting the leader in all transactions.

The Accountant is in authority in formulating the accounting system, recording the

transactions regarding business operations, and providing report of financial statements weekly.

She is also accountable in receiving cash disbursement requisition from the Purchasing Head,

sales receipt from the Sales Officer, production expense from the Production Head and

marketing expenses from the Marketing Head and keeping the copies of these documents.

The Treasurer is accountable in safeguarding the assets of the business as custodian of

money, signing cash disbursements and cash receipts and reporting weekly cash count with the

accountant and leader. She is in-charge in receiving cash disbursement requests from the

Purchasing Head and holding copies of sales receipts and expenses.

The Finance Department Head is responsible in managing the resources and assets of the

business, providing reports regarding finances, sales and budgets to the Secretary, supervising

the Sales Officer, monitoring the expenses and sales of the business, computing mark-up value

for the products, budgeting discounts and promos, and holding copies of documents passed and

received by the department.

The Sales Officer is in-charge of receiving orders from the sales agents, creating 3 copies

of sales order for the Finance Head, Production Head, and Sales Officer; receiving confirmed

production of sales order from the Production Head, creating 4 copies of sales receipt for the

Finance Head, Accountant, Treasurer and Sales Officer; holding copies of every documents

passed through or made from her desk; reporting sales to the Accountant; and providing daily

report of sales to the Finance Head.

The Marketing Department Head is accountable in reporting the marketing plan of the

business to the Leader and Secretary, spearheading the group with the marketing strategies,

supervising the works of her department, creating target market in the different locations, and

informing the group about the updates with marketing styles.

The Personal Selling Marketing Officer is responsible in formulating the promotional

strategies in terms of personal selling, reporting the personal selling strategies to the Marketing

Head and creating market in different locations through the use of personal selling.

The Strategic Marketing Officer is responsible in formulating the different strategic

marketing styles and strategies necessary for the promotion of the product and the business,

reporting formulated strategies to the Marketing Head, and creating market in different locations

through the use of different marketing strategies.

The Budget Marketing Officer is responsible in reporting expenses incurred by the

marketing team to the Accountant, Marketing Head, Finance Head, and Treasurer, providing

budget for the marketing strategies such as discounts and promos, monitoring the expenses of

marketing, and creating cash disbursement requisition for the marketing department to the

Treasurer.

The Production Department Head is accountable in ensuring the quality of the products;

reporting transaction to the Leader regarding production and expenses to the Accountant and

Treasurer; receiving sales order from the sales officer; creating purchase requisition to the

purchasing department; accepting breakdown of expenses and suppliers profile from the

Purchasing Department and product designs from the Arts and Design Department; supervising

the works of the production staff; and confirming the production of sales order to the Sales

Officer.

The Purchasing Department Head is in-charge in purchasing the supplies and raw

materials of the business; reporting expenses for the purchases to the Production Head; receiving

purchase requisition from the Production Head; creating breakdown of expenses for the products;

ensuring the quality of the raw materials and finished goods; providing suppliers profile to the

Production Head; creating cash disbursement requisition to the Treasurer and Accountant;

keeping documents from every transaction of the department; monitoring the expenses regarding

the purchases.

The Inventory Manager, oversee the inventory levels of businesses. They lead a team of

inventory or warehouse employees to receive and record new stock as its delivered and shipped

out. Their duties include recording daily deliveries, evaluating new shipments, and analyzing

different suppliers.

The Human Resources Department Head is responsible in the appropriate candidates for

the jobs in the business, reporting the connection profile of the members, ensuring the stability of

the motivations of the members, and creating report regarding the behavior of the members to be

passed on the Secretary.

The Sales officer is responsible in selling the products of the business, providing information

regarding the orders of the customers to the Sales Officer, creating markets to the different

locations and establishing connections with the target market of the business.

Target Market

Burgers and other related food tickles the interest of today's generation. Ages 15 to 45,

men and women, who loves to hangout with their friends in a cool and relaxing place with

limited budget while enjoying fast foods are the target market of the proponents. The proponents

see the advantage in this market segment as demand for fast food constantly rises. In addition,

the proponents will give a simple burger an international vibe as it will be infusing foreign

countries' different taste of burger. In this viewpoint, it would really contribute a huge potential

for the increasing market share of MaSunsamEat.

1. Entry

- Moderate. The threat of new entrants is moderate since the chosen business concept 'Burger

House' is limited to only three companies. However, other potential competitors might offer

products relatively close to the industry chosen, leading to its possible acquisition of market

share.

2. Power of Input Suppliers

- Low. The bargaining power of supplier is low due to the availability and accessibility of the

raw materials, specifically buns, patties, cheese and vegetables. Since there are many potential

suppliers, inputs can be purchased from the supplier with the least cost. Therefore, it will be

favorable on the company because it has the power to negotiate with input prices.

3. Power of Buyers

- Moderate. The bargaining power of buyers is considered to be moderate because they cannot

obtain the products at amount lower than the fixed price set. However, some customers might

still compare the prices with businesses offering the same product, effectively give them the

power to bargain to the business.

4. Industry Rivalry

- High. Despite having only two competitors, the competition is still high since they can offer the

same bundle or promos the company choses to serve. Because of this, customers might be driven

to try other business with the most attractive menu.

5. Complements and Substitutes

- Moderate. Since the chosen business concept is suitable for merienda, or snacks, the company

found it to be advantageous since the main input 'patty' can be offered with rice, which can be a

meal. This can lessen the threat of substitution. However, customers are uncontrollable with

regards to their preferences. Shawarma, inasal and other cuisines might be one of it, leading to a

possible substitution of the company's offered product.

Philippine Burger

• The Philippine burger is inspired from a folklore tale

in the Philippines known as “Ang alamat ng puso ng

saging”. The burger’s patty is made of banana heart.

The burger will be served with cheese, onions, and

garlic sauce.

American burger

• The American burger is inspired by a typical breakfast

in United States. As we all know, American breakfast

often consists of bacon and egg served with toast or

home fries. This concept brings the American-inspired

burger which contains the (beef) burger patty, pickle

chips, sliced red onion and tomato, crispy lettuce leaves, cheese, ketchup and mayo, and of

course, the bacon strips and sunny side-up egg with fries on the side.

Italian Burger

• The Italian burger is derived from the most prominent

Southern Italian cuisines and main source of

carbohydrates, the pasta and pizza. With this idea, we

came up to an Italian-inspired burger that consist of

(pork) burger patty, crispy lettuce leaves, sliced tomato,

bacon strips, cheese, ketchup and mayo, and of course,

the baked macaroni pasta. (with pizza on the side)

Mexican Burger

• The Mexican burger is inspired by Pancholon's burger

of Silantro Fil-Mex Cantina. Through Silantro Fil-Mex

Cantina, Mexican dishes are presented and introduced

particularly here in Dagupan. An idea popped as also we

want to introduce a Mexican-inspired burger,

particularly Pancholon's-inspired burger, which contains

the (beef) burger patty, sliced tomato and cucumber, (fries), cheese, spiced garlic mayonnaise

sauce, and nachos on the side.

Indian Burger

• The Indian burger is derived from the diet of Indians.

A vegetarian burger on a diet that consist of chicken

fillet served as the patty, crispy lettuce leaves, sliced red

onion and tomato, fried potatoes, (cheese), and spiced

mayonnaise sauce.

Barkada Burger

• The barkada burger is a big size burger that is made to

cater 3-5 people. It is made up of a colorful bun, rich

beef patty, lettuce, cheese, and burger sauce to suit your

taste.

Burger steak

For people who do cannot carry on without rice on their

plates, our burger house also serves burger steak with rice.

Rich beef patty that comes with plain rice or garlic rice.

Promotion

The owners plan to target social media and nearby potential customers through flyers.

Three days prior to the opening of Market Day 2020, it is planned to disseminate flyers around

Dagupan to reach more potential customers. Also, the company currently have a Facebook page

to promote our business. The company would also encourage customers to post feedbacks on the

page to spread positive word of mouth.

To widen the scope of the business, it is planned to introduce a product line of burgers,

owners plan to introduce burger to widen the scope of target market.
