Myeik: An Escape to the Beautiful Serene City

The beautiful city of Myeik is under the region of Tanintharyi in Myanmar,


located south on the coast of the Andaman Sea. The town was an important
trading center and seaport in the 16th century. In the present day, it is the
largest city in Tanintharyi and is continuously considered the most important
as it is the Coastal Command’s capital. The population in 2010 was
estimated to be around 209,000. To get to this charming town, tourists must
fly through Myeik Airport (MGZ). This airport serves numerous flights
around the country. 

Best Time to Visit

There are numerous activities to do and places to visit in Myeik. The city is
close to the sea, so the weather conditions are neither too cold nor too hot,
especially during the months from January to April, and from November to
December. Tourists who wanted to take part in the Thingyan Festival, also
known as the Water Festival that takes place in mid-April, should book their
flights and accommodations in advance. There are a lot of great deals
for Myeik hotels in the area that will surely fit your budget needs. 

What to Do and Area Attraction

Taking a trip to Myeik, you would not want to miss to stroll around
the Myeik Port. It looks even prettier at night as lights are surrounding the
boat. Don’t miss a visit to the Paw Daw Mu Pagoda, where you can enjoy
a beautiful sunset view. It is the most famous and is located in the heart of
Myeik. There are plenty of places to stay in the country. The Baandin
Huaiphung Resort is one of the best, surrounded by a scenic pasture and
situated near the attraction sites.
