Check the expiry date on each fire extinguisher; write the locations
and number of fire extinguisher’s expiry date near about next month
Check the pressure gauge, it should be indicate “green”, in case of
8 indicate “Red” or “recharge” Sign immediate replace fire extinguisher
from the place.
9 Is the fire extinguisher mounted as per standard not more than 4 feet?
Verify the locking pin is intact and the tamper seal is unbroken.
10 Examine the extinguisher for obvious physical damage, corrosion,
leakage, or clogged nozzle
Confirm the pressure gauge or indicator is in the operable range or

position, and lift the extinguisher to ensure it is still full.
Make sure the operating instructions on the nameplate are legible and

facing outward
Are portable fire extinguishers fully charged, operable, and kept in

their designated places at all times?
Examine the extinguisher and determine that the use instructions are

legible and facing outward
Does each extinguisher have a tag or label securely attached that
indicates the month and year the inspection, maintenance, states that
15
recharging was performed and identifies the person performing the
service?
