10 blinks- digital board or tuner board * some Sony TVs may not have this board
11 red flashes- bad main board, bad IC, replace main logic board
12 red light flashes is tcon error bad T-con board or bad LCD panel, replace tcon board usually
13 red flashing is backlight balance error bad lcd panel or inverter boards (common) or bal board on kdl-

I didn't even know that you could resolve these issues on your own. I've always thought that once a
TV got damaged it was either broken beyond repair, or needed professional help. I guess that's
okay with older TVs. It would be hard to accept that with the more expensive TVs we all have now
though. I would definitely want to do whatever I could to fix, rather than replace my TV.

I'm having the same problem with my KDL-46VL-160 model. Screen goes black after 10
seconds, or so. Then get the red standby LED that flashes 14 times, then repeats. TV is How to re
only 5 or 6 years old. Did anyone find a resolution to the problem? CODE

Hello, i just got myself a KDL-40W600B brand new. When i unbox it and try to turn it on for the

first time, it straight send me to a setup page. Before i can do anything, it turns off by itself, even i
press the power button on remote or on the TV itself it just wont come up. There is red blink light 6
times on the LED indicator.

One of the 15 V DC output capacitor broken. Simplest way is replace all 1500up/25V
capacitors with 2200up/35V capacitors if you could do it your self.

power grid lights Standby red light. When I trigger Power light and the screen starts off, you can
see the title before deleting, it is very fast after that flashes Standby 6 times. I've done tests as a
colleague suggests the Service Manual but problem persists. I noticed that before starting up the
power (standby red LED on) voltages are all correct 12V and 3.3V, but after the power voltage
trigger some of t-con and main BATV plates.
Can you help me? Thank you.

i had one kdl 40 series bravia it started perfect then in 10 minutes black screen and red led blinkis
4 times which showed inverter foult i dissambled it and cleaned every thing then the thing done the
same again till i noticed i live in a hot climet i put a small fan to the back where aims the inverter
and problem is gone forever

Hi I have sony KDL-42w900B It is blinkin 3 times red and no picture on screen but when i hold
power button the screen started showing buffer symbl .
This Problems happen due to excess shock as i connected Hdmi cable to PC and TV. Mp PC started
smoking n fire .

im buying a samsung led tv at the weekend and im going to mount it on the wall but ive been told
that the only bracket i can buy to hang the tv is a one made by samsung and its very expensive is
this true or can i use any bracket to hang the tv i was told its something to do with the size of the
hole for the bolts

I have a kdl 32bx320. I get a 6 red blinking lights. The tv turns on sometimes fine but after 30
minutes to an hour it flickers and tries rebooting itself. I've tried a factory reset but didn't fix the
issue. Tonight I took the back off the TV and looked at the connections which look fine. Any
suggestions?

Hi I have Sony KDL-37EX403 and it has blinking led"s.
When I plug in and press power on the green light comes on for approx 2 seconds and then goes
off,the red standby led comes on and blinks red for 7 times and then it goes to 3 red blinks then
pause and repeats 3 red blinks,could you help me to repair or tell me what compointents need
replaced to repair this fault.

It's really a tough job to make your LCD or LED TV repaired, especially when it goes out of
warranty. In the latest gadgets, the technology used is very specific & so we don't have another
option, apart from sending it to the authorized center. Well it goes this way only. But, if you are

Getting 3.3V from first check. "BL ON" shows 0 but is supposed to say 3 or 5 volts. Does this mean

yes you can repair it by dissasembling the back pannel and attaching computer fans to
the plastic cover it is because the invertor gets too hot

Sony 60in wall hung. Brilliant advice error 5 blinking lights. I went around the outside of the TV
frame whilst still mounted and gently pushed inwards. Must be weight and sag. I tried power off
and removing antenna 20 times prior! Thank you

Yes they do..check the led ribbon cables( there should be 4 of them)that plug into the
led driver board for arcing.

This morning my Sony W60B LED tv started emitting a low volume sound from inside the set that
varied (possible arching) and comes and goes, this evening the set shut off and I get the red 6 blink
error code. I unplug the power supply for a few minutes. When I plug it back in it powers up,
picture ok, and goes off again within 5 minutes with the same 6 blink error code. Could it be the
capacitors on the pwr supply board? I have had the tv for 2 years to the day! Happy anniversary I
guess. I have a back round in electronics and have the knowhow and equipment to troubleshoot
and repair the set. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello, i have a kdl-46hx800 with 4 blinks.. Replaced led driver board and checked for arcing but
no luck.. Whats weird is if i disconnect the plug that goes between led driver board and the big tcon
board tv powers on with sound only..im lost?

Yes i did.. There are several small fuses on the Tcon board. About the size of a grain of
sand or bigger. One of them was not making good contact so I heated the board up with
my hot air station and now my tv has been on for a year no problems

hello, i have a sony kdl55-w802a, the factory reset started and got to the black/white crystals page
but no initial setup options displayed. TV goes off and on 3 times and then returns to the standby
mode and red light starts blinking 8 times. When TV is on the black and white crystals display,
remote and TV power button does not work but works to bring it back on when its blinking red
light and when it goes off/on by itself.....Please help

I have a Sony Bravia KDL-48w600b. About 6 months ago, the TV stopped working and gave me 7
flashing red LED lights on the front. I let it sit for a while and decided that perhaps I could fix it
after seeing that it was the main board that was the issue. So I replaced the main board and it
started giving me 6 flashing red LED lights on the front. I tried a factory reset, but nothing is
working. The whole time, the screen is blank -- at first, there was some static/snow, but now the
screen is black. There was some sound. I tried updating the firmware, but without being able to see
what is on the screen, I'm pretty sure I screwed it up even more.
Now there are just 5 lights flashing on the front... and according to the list above, it means that
there is a bad LCD connection or internal LCD short.
Since I did see some static/snow, I'm guessing that the panel is fine...
So do you have anything else I can try?

I have a Sony KDL46HX729. Last night I placed my LG sound bar in front of it. It was working fine
until 8pm this evening when I came back from
shopping. When I turned it on, first I noticed a dark vertical bar about 7 inches wide where it had
on the left edge several blue lines. Then
the right side of the screen started to act noisy. I turned of the tv to see if a restart fixes it. After that
I have not been able to
turn it back on. I did resetting the tv and everything online. When I trun it on, the red led blinking
flashing light 5 times every few seconds.
I red that from your site that the five (5) red flashes, indicates bad lcd panel connection or internal
lcd short- squeeze bezel to locate bad connection
Somewhere else I read that it could be due to a broken T-con board.
May replacing the T-con Board fix the issue?
Any suggestions for repair would be greately appreciated.

Unplugg cable that connects tcon board to led driver board and try turning tv on..if it
powers up minus picture then check all surface mount fuses on tcon board.. you can also
try using hot air station on every inch of tcon board as a last ditch effort to get tv to
power on normally..if you get picture back replace tcon if it goes out again..

Its model is KLV-26S550A, its problem is this is not running.green light is ON when power in it or
red light blinking almost 124 Than it is shutdown.

Blinking 14 time so I tried unplugging the tcon and plugged it in and it came back on for 2 minutes

Sony KDL50ex645....has 3 blinks..sony logo appears for a sec and set shuts down. Getting the 3.2v
stand by voltage. ...the 12v comes up on power bd when pressing power button but goes away after
the logo flash off. I'm thinking of purchasing logic bd. Do anyone think that's a logical choice?

My Sony Bravia KDL-46EX723 won't turn on, and a red light is blinking 6 times in a row
continuously. I tried to unplug it for 60 seconds & I changed the power source but it is not
responding. Shall I replace a board as you mentioned? Can you please make it more clear?

Sony 52S5100 SN # 8077385
Hi, I’m not a TV REPAIR TECHNICIAN OR ELECTRONIC EXPERT, so here’s my problem, NO
POWER. The TV does not come on when I use the remote or switch on the side of the TV, no
clicking noise, no lights, nothing.
FYI. Although the Operating Manual says the TV has a “Standby Red LED” I have never seen this
light lit since I purchased the TV new, when I turn on the TV the green light come on, when I turn
the TV off, the green lit goes off, no red lit comes on. I tried several different power outlets with the
same result, no power.
I opened the TV and see the following major boards
D5N - 1-878-624-12
D6N – 1-878-625-11
G5N - APS 245 1 879-246-11
BM3 – A 1727-313A – 1-879-020-12
I’m thinking it’s the power board G5N or Main Board BM3.I want to buy both boards, but BM3
main board is not available anywhere.

Before buying anything you should get yourself a good multi meter and watch one of Tampatec’s
videos on how to check voltages. Also, you should look for any burn spots or swollen capacitors.
Sometimes the amount of flashes doesn’t always mean that is what’s wrong with it. I had a Sony
with 4 flashes and replaced the LED driver board with no luck..applied a heat gun to my tcon board
and brought my TV back from the dead.. As always be careful as there are deadly voltages in every
TV.

I have fixed the 6 flashing red lights error on both of my KDL40w600B sets:
-Turn the unit on.
-Select the TV input. You may have to go to the HOME screen and enable this in settings. (This for
some reason allowed my tv to stay on during this process)
-Go to home screen and connect to a network and download all updates and software.
-Allow updates to finish. When complete turn unit off then back on.
Mine have both worked for a few days now.

Hi there. Got a kdl-46V2500. Just started showing tight, thin vertical lines. Power it off, and it
gives the standby light 8 blinks and will not power on. Pull cord to reset, let set for about 2
minutes. Plug in, powers up normally. After about 15-20 minutes problem returns...

Are these fault codes the same for the XBR line? I have an XBR55x930d that starts the boot up
