To describe the preventive maintenance procedure of Coating Pan.

2. Scope:

This procedure is applied to the coating pans installed at OSD area.

3. Reference:

3.1 SOP # EN-ENG-030 “Management of Maintenance”

4. Definition and Abbreviation:

MMS: Maintenance Management System

5. Responsibilities:

5.1. Assistant manager production maintenance is responsible for the coordination /


execution of maintenance according to the procedure outlined.
5.2. Assistant manager MMS is responsible for publishing and implementing the planned
maintenance schedule.

6. Procedure:

6.1. Precautions
Following actions are taken.
6.1.1. Check emergency stop buttons are operational
6.1.2. Main power supply breakers should be OFF before starting the maintenance.
6.1.3. Electrical panels should be properly grounded.
6.1.4. Use face masks, safety shoes and gloves during maintenance of the machine.
6.1.5. Confirm the machine’s availability date so that maintenance work does not
disturb any operations.

6.2. Maintenance (conventional coating pans)


Inspect the following for smooth operations:
6.2.1. Pan’s surface for smoothness.
6.2.2. Loose wiring and earthing.
6.2.3. Motor overload.
6.2.4. Operational switches for looseness, replace if required
6.2.5. Motors bearing, replace if found damaged.
6.2.6. Hot air and pan’s motor rotation is clockwise and running smoothly.
6.2.7. Compressed air and hot air pipes for leakages.
6.2.8. Temperature controller, thermocouples and heaters for proper functioning.
6.2.9. Verify temperature controller is calibrated.
6.2.10. Clean spray nozzle.
6.2.11. Clean electrical panel.RPM of coating pan.
6.2.12. INLET AND EXHAUST
6.2.13. BLOWER
6.2.14. Coating pan flanges are fitted properly with the platform. Inspect bolts
condition. Replace, if required.

6.3. Maintenance (high speed coating pan)


Inspect the following for smooth operations:
6.3.1. Pan’s surface for smoothness.
6.3.2. Loose wiring and earthing.
6.3.3. Motor overload.
6.3.4. Operational switches for looseness, replace if required
6.3.5. Check pan, hot air and exhaust air units for any abnormal noise. Replace
bearings, if found damaged.
6.3.6. Hot air, exhaust air unit and pan’s motor rotation is clockwise and running
smoothly.
6.3.7. Ensure hot air and exhaust air unit functioning properly.
6.3.8. Compressed air pipe for leakages.

6.3.9. Hot air and exhaust pipe and ducts for leakages.
6.3.10. Thermocouples and heaters for proper functioning.
6.3.11. Verify thermocouples are calibrated.rpm
6.3.12. Clean exhaust air and hot air unit, including filters. Replace filters if
necessary.
6.3.13. Clean spray nozzle.
6.3.14. Clean electrical panel.

6.4. Frequency:
6.4.1. Maintenance carried out on six monthly basis.
