    Directions: Cut out the following key terms and definitions along the solid lines. Match
    them up and on a separate sheet of paper by placing them under the correct categories:
    residential or commercial.

    Healthcare design Multiple houses of a similar style are built on a tract of


    land that becomes a subdivision.

    Modular Home where you own an individual unit in a multi-family


    dwelling. You become part owner of the common areas.

    Tract Houses that are typically less than 400 square feet.

    Corporate/Office Design of an interior to visually market a set of products.

    Retail design Design of places to meet with others, relax, feel safe,
    purchase lodging, or food.

    Multi-family housing Unique house designed by an architect and built by a

    and private funds, but not privately owned.

    many families.

    Institutional design Dwellings that are designed to be used by more than one
    household, with each having their own private living unit.

    Residential design Houses that are completely built in a factory or plant and
    pulled to the lot on wheels.

    Apartment Design of office buildings and spaces.

    Hospitality design Involves the design of all areas that are not residential.

    Single Family Design of interiors that enhance the patient’s journey


    from illness or injury back to improved health.

    Custom built Designing the interior of private homes.


    Commercial design Houses that are built in boxes/rooms and shipped to the
    building site to be assembled.
