In the world exist many holidays which are celebrated different in every
country. I’d like to characterize Christmas in three states from the world as
Moldova, Great Britain and USA. I choose this holiday because it is one of the
most festive holy day in many countries around the world. It is a Christian
holiday in memory of Jesus Christ’s birth and most people celebrate the day
on December 25 in the Gregorian calendar, but many Orthodox Christians
celebrate Christmas Day on January 7 like Moldovans.
There are many ways to celebrate Christmas and people from different
countries blend their cultural traditions with more universal Christmas
celebration.
For Moldova, Great Britain and USA are specific to have decorated
Christmas trees, either real or fake. Although Moldovans usually decorate
Christmas trees on New Year’s Eve, and some call it the New Year tree. The
Christmas trees for British and Americans or New Year tree for Moldovans
are beautifully decorated with colored lights, angels and bright ornaments. In
Great Britain in addition on the tree are hung little packets with nuts, candies
and special biscuits.
In USA and Great Britain are present traditions to decorate the exterior of
house with small, bright-colored lights. In my opinion it is looking very
beautiful and create an wonderful atmosphere.
Also in these three state people buying gifts to present each other and
sending Christmas cards. Children waiting to receive gifts from Santa Claus.
In USA and Great Britain he puts his sweets into the Christmas stoking, but in
Moldova Santa puts his gifts under the Christmas tree. I don’t really believe in
Santa but I believe the Christmas is a very unusual holiday when the wonders
happen and all dreams may come true.
Usually children from these states come around in the evening to the front
doors and start singing carols and the people living in these houses give
children candies, nuts, pie and so on, to thank them for carol singing.
When the meal is ready the real Christmas comes with the big dinner, gifts,
sweets and illumination.
Christmas time is the most beautiful time of year, the time of love, joy and
hopes. It is a special holiday for all the people around the world and it has its
traditions which are different or similar.
The way you treat yourself sets the standards for other
Feelings are different. We know how to feel and how to behave, but we
don’t know exactly how to express it. If you allow for subpar standards in
your life, do not shrink or get aggravated when people treat you in a subpar
manner. Many of us don’t recognize exactly how much greatness that we
actually have on the inside of ourselves, and too many times we get caught up
in trying to please everyone by telling ourselves no, that we start to lose
ourselves and end up frustrated in the end.
Respect is a word which you don’t use and don’t hear every day, but you
know that you have right to be respected as a personality. And if you treat
yourself with respect the others will treat you with that same respect. If you
have low esteem, you shouldn’t expect others to think highly of you. You can
become an even more excellent person by constantly setting higher and higher
standard for yourself. And then by doing everything possible to live up to
those standards.
Instead of treating yourself poorly, and not taking the care that you need to
take in your life, including thing like the continual education, and
development of your spiritual and physical body, treat yourself like you want
others treat you. No one who are treating you better than yourself. You are
the person that what you need, what you want and how to behave with your
own person. It is indispensable to treat yourself as well you can.
Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to
love yourself to get anything done in this world. Plant your own flower,
decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring your flowers.
I’m pretty convinced that treat yourself as you would like others to treat
you is one of the most important things in life. You must never forget that the
way you treat yourself sets the standards for other persons.
Happiness is a value worth pursuing
In the world exists many type of sports. Some of these are more interesting
than others for different people. For example, Americans have reputations for
being good at baseball, volleyball and basketball. Basketball and volleyball are
invented in United States of America. In USA are presented and another types
of sports near the enumerated sports. It can be explained by the size and
variety of country. Another reason of the popularity of sports is the people’s
love of competitions of any kind and wishes to have the best reputations at
different sports. One more reason is that Americans use sports activities for
teaching social values, such as teamwork and sportsmanship. All these
explain why Americans have traditionally done well in many kinds of sports,
especially at baseball, ice-hockey and others.
The British are great lovers of sports and they have reputations for being
good at football, rugby and tennis. Professional football is a big business in
Great Britain. Wimbledon is the centre of lawn tennis. Furthermore English
men pay much attention to swimming, rowing and walking. In generally, in
Great Britain we can not say about the reputations for being good at one type
of sports because many kinds of sports have taken the origin in England.
The Australians has a good reputation for being good swimmers, the
Chinese are the best gymnastics and Spanish has a good reputations at soccer.
Different countries have reputations for being goods at different sports
because it are influenced by territorial and ethnic characteristics such as
climate and topography of the country, the culture and traditions of the
people who inhabit in it. In colder climates are better developed winter sports,
and closer to the Equator – summer sports. If the entire country is plain, it is
not likely to be good at alpine skiing.
Some traditional sports in any country which are few popular in the world
promote successes in other sports in certain countries. The success of Brazilian
football players did not achieve without capoeira. But curling didn’t a final
role in what Canadians do on the hochey site.
Finally, I want say that The Moldovan atlets are making significant progress
at the global level, not at all typical sports such as, for example, the Greco-
Roman wrestling. And Moldovans has reputations for being good at
weightlifting. This year Moldova took three medals at European
Championship. But the reputation of the countries is due primarily to climatic
condition. In a country where winter prevails, will practice winter sports and
where the prevailing climate is warm, will be practiced summer sports.
This is almost nothing in your life that is not touched by

Saying that education is important might be the biggest understatement ever. Education
is an essential part of functioning correctly within a society, as it helps us get a better
career, think critically, make good decisions, differentiate between ethical values, use
new techniques to improve productivity, and the list could go on forever.
Education always needs to start from home. Ever since we grow up, we should normally
be educated by our parents and family how to act accordingly in society, how to be
polite, and what things we should strive for and what we should avoid. In school, we
learn how to read, write, count, calculate and so forth. We read books in order to get
more information about the world that surrounds us. Education is a never-ending
process. We keep on learning till the day we die, and that is the way it should be.
We shouldn't just stop educating ourselves once we feel that we know all that we need to
know. If you ever feel like that, there's a one hundred percent chance that you're
mistaken and actually have a lot more to learn. Education improves one's life
significantly...
The internet is a wonderful and vast place where you can find all sorts of things that may
interest you. You can delve into all the knowledge of the world, you can search for
entertainment, you can buy mostly anything you want and you can communicate with
other people, no matter the distance, almost free of charge.
By accessing the internet, you are travelling to a different world, one where everything is
at your fingertips, a world where the answers to important questions lie just a few
keystrokes away, a place where you can buy everything you desire and communicate
with any human on the planet. It all sounds great, but nevertheless, it has its downsides.
Let's start with the good first. I already mentioned earlier part of the things you can do
online that are beneficial. There are several video platforms on the web that allow you to
watch a variety of videos of your own choosing, be it educational, comical, action packed
and all others. Unlike television….
Teachers and students have two distinctive roles in their relationship. One is an
apprentice, while the other is the instructor. Teachers are the one who give out
instruction and explain to us how things in work in a certain domain. They help us
develop our skills which we will need both in life and when pursuing a career. Although
we could, in theory, study on our own, the reality is that we need guidance when
learning something new.
The main virtues of a good teacher are patience, understanding, adaptability to other
people's learning pace and knowing how to communicate properly. The student only
learns efficiently if the one who teaches knows how to properly explain every detail of
the subject without unnecessary convolution. With that said, in this type of
relationships, the emphasis must be put on communication. There are no feelings
involved, just plain interaction from which students have a lot of information to gain...
“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.”
Express your opinion on this quote in 350 words.
Everyone has most likely heard on the news about global warming, pollution and the
destabilization of nature more and more at an alarming rate. Obviously, these issues are
important and something needs to be done in order to suppress them, Luckily, there are
quite a few organizations out there that are striving to resolve them as quickly and
efficiently as possible.
The most common issue that people are talking about is the pollution caused by cars.
Indeed, carbon dioxide emissions affect the planet's atmosphere, thus enhancing the
global warming effect, but some solutions are not as good as others. For example, The
European Union proposed a carbon tax for car drivers, yet that has neither stopped
people from buying cars, nor has it slowed down the gas' effects.
Private companies, such as Tesla Motors, on the other hand, have come with a much
more reasonable solution: produce electric cars. These vehicles operate exclusively on
electricity and can easily replace...
Making a good first impression is more important than one might think at first. Apart
from attitude, charisma and other personal traits, clothes also help us establish a certain
image about ourselves in the minds of people around us. Sure, the basic functions of
clothes are to cover up our body and protect us from cold, but they have an aesthetic
function that is just as important. Although some may argue that judging people based
on how they dress is hypocritical, I beg to differ.
Indeed, not all of us can afford the latest fashion trends or the most expensive brands,
but we can still select good looking and high quality fabrics without having to spend a lot
of money. What matters most is the way we choose to dress, not what brand or how
much our apparel costs. Our wardrobe directly reflects to others important aspects
about our personality. The colours we choose to wear can indirectly influence others'
mood. The way we assort our clothes, what type of jackets or pants we choose to wear,
and so forth, can tell a lot about how well organised or disorganised we are.
There are numerous types of clothes that we can wear for several different occasions.
Whatever your taste may be, you will surely find something that suites you…..
Winter is the coldest season throughout the year. I personally prefer summer, but I love
winter because that is when Christmas and the New Year celebration start. In fact, when
I was a kid, I looked forward to the winter season exactly for this reason. I love when it's
snowing on Christmas just as much as I loved it back in the good old days.
I think that, as kids, we all loved winter because it would be the perfect time to get the
sleigh out of the shed and just play in the snow all day long. We used to make snowmen
and throw snowballs at each other. Sure, as teenagers, we might also do those things
from time to time, but it felt way better when we were kids. The only thing that used to
bother me as a child regarding winter was the unforgiving cold. Nowadays, when I see
snow any other time of the year apart from Christmas, I feel like doing nothing but stay
at home and drink hot cocoa.
Something tells me that when I'll get even older I'll start hating winter even more. I see a
lot of people who go to work that keep complaining about the short days and long
nights, about how it's dark both when they go to and leave work. I also find this aspect
about winter appalling...
The English language is unique, intriguing and wide spread around the globe. It would
be an understatement to say that you will need to learn it in order to travel anywhere in
the world or navigate the internet, play video games, etc. If you're planning to visit a
foreign country, but don't know their native tongue, it's sufficient to know English even
at a conversational level in order to get by.
For almost a decade, English has become my second language. I've started learning it by
watching cartoons, movies, playing video games, surfing the web and, finally, perfected
it in school. Suffice to say that it is best to learn a language while young, because it is
during that time period that the part of your brain which handles vocabulary is
developing rapidly. I've met people my age who don't know the English language beyond
a conversational level and I've seen them struggle to comprehend and memorize words
and expressions. Me and all the other people who have learned the language via
cartoons and other mediums while young had no such problems.
The advantages of knowing a second language, or even a third one, are tremendous. Not
only will you be able to communicate with tons of people on the internet, but you will
most likely get a job easier, you will find it simple get directions from other people while
staying in another country, you will be able to understand foreign movies without...
The summer holiday
Summer is the perfect season to relax, travel and have fun. The summer holiday lasts 3
months, which is perfect to do all of these things. The sun is shining, the weather is
good, tourism flourishes, people are eager to go places, meet new acquaintances and
have tons of fun at the beach, at the club or anywhere they can.
During the summer, I like exploring the world as much as I can. If possible, I would like
to go on vacation to another country and visit as many sites as I can. I like admiring
beautiful landscapes and hiking through the forest. I like going to the beach and sit back
as the sun hits my skin, or go into the water and swim as much as humanly possible. I
enjoy traveling and meeting new people a lot. That's why I usually take my vacation to a
big city when possible, because I know that a lot of tourists are also interested in having
fun and meeting new friends.
Some of these things may seem contradictory to one another – hiking through the
woods and going to a big city, but they do not necessarily exclude each other. Anyone
needs both some time alone and some time with other people. Although fun, socialising
can be tiresome at times and having some precious time for yourself is recommended...
Hello, Robert!
I just came back from my winter holiday and it was amazing. In the last days of school
before the winter holiday, we had a Christmas festivity. Me and all my classmates
participated in a small game called “Secret Santa” where we each wrote our name on a
piece of paper, put it in a box and then everyone picked out a piece so that they would
know who they have to give gifts to.
The whole idea of this game is to encourage compassion and give to anyone, no matter
how much you communicate with them. It was a lot of fun. I received a wallet with the
AC/DC band's logo printed on it from my classmate, Radu. I had to give a gift to another
classmate, Roxana, and since she likes Reggae music, I gave her a Bob Marley t-shirt. It
was a lot of fun, and we all enjoyed giving and receiving presents.
After that, the holiday began immediately. I went with my parents to my grandmother's
house and spent Christmas there. We invited carol singers into our home and found joy
in the little things that life has to offer. We had the traditional Christmas meal together
and told stories about what we have done this past year and what we want to do in the
following one...
Hello, Lynda!
I know that you are soon coming to visit me and since you will be staying at my place, I
thought it would be a good idea to tell you a few things about my family.
As you already know, I live with my parents and my two siblings: Robert, my brother,
and Lidia, my sister. Out of my siblings, I am the oldest. I am currently a student at Jean
Monnet High School of Bucharest. My brother is 13 years old and my sister turns 10
next week. I mostly spend time with them after school is over.
My father, Bogdan, is a lawyer. He works very hard to make sure that our family has
everything we need. Sometimes he even has to stay after regular working hours in order
to gather intelligence for the cases he works on. I admire him greatly and he has
inspired me to become a lawyer myself...
