The Internet

The document discusses the invention and evolution of the Internet. While no single person can be credited with inventing the Internet, researchers from the Advanced Research Project Agency founded by the U.S. Department of Defense were instrumental in developing it in the late 1960s. Initially restricted to academic and military uses, the Internet now impacts nearly every aspect of modern life and has become an essential tool for work, learning, communication and more. THE INTERNET

Perhaps, one of the greatest inventions is the Internet. It is now easier

than ever to go online, whether you are using a computer, phone, or
tablet. With no doubt, there are more than 10 to 20 million people,
who use this great electronic getaway that provides instant access to
global news and information. But do we really know who invented it?

A lot of people argue about the person who invented the Internet, as it
is impossible to credit the invention of the Internet to a single person.
However, some researchers from the Advanced Research Project
Agency founded by the U.S. Department of Defense, in collaboration
with other Institutions, were the ones who had materialized the
Internet in the late 1960s.

When the Internet was first introduced to people, in 1991, reactions

were mixed, as initially it was restricted to academic and military uses.
Therefore, world did not react to it almost at all, as no middle-class
person had a computer or even access to one. The Internet had very
humble beginnings.

Now, the Internet has turned our existence upside down, and it is one
of the best innovations of all time. It is a great and useful tool that
nearly everyone uses today, whether that is for work, learning or
communication. Thanks to it there are a lot of people who work from
home now; they created a nice, cozy, and comfortable home
workspace and tend to be more productive. Also, educators have the
ability to design online courses and provide students with a great
selection of online learning resources and tools. In addition, the
internet has revolutionized all forms of communication since the
beginning of its existence. It has changed the way people communicate
and keep in touch in many ways. It is so cheap to contact someone,
even if that person is from another country. This is due to the fact that
people can now send tons of messages, have audio or video calls for
hours.

The Internet has become a part of our lives in the modern world. It
has evolved to become one of the most important inventions in
mankind’s history. There are a lot of people who have been brought
up without it, however I cannot imagine how life would be in the
absence of the Internet. It would be a nightmare; everything would
have to change.
