Grade 6/7 Teacher Candidate, St. Clement Catholic School, Etobicoke, ON 2020 (4 weeks)
• Taught Underground to Canada novel studies that explored slavery and its impact on Canadian culture.
Students studied character point of view, created songs and completed writing activities based on this
perspective.
• Created a unit on mental health and well-being looking at the contemporary impacts of social media and
technology. Students created video blogs to de stigmatize mental health conceptions demonstrating
knowledge of issues and coping strategies.

FDK Teacher Candidate, St. Clement Catholic School, Etobicoke, ON 2019 (7 weeks)
• Developed programming in science for teaching students about hibernation that allowed them to explore,
think independently, and reflect on their learning using a cross-curricular approach.
• Facilitated a play-based learning model to design engaging hands-on lessons that allowed all types of
learners to be successful through UDL. Gave students the choice of using movement, drawing, writing,
technology or manipulatives to represent their alphabetic knowledge and phonemic awareness.
