The Marketing Mix of Your Company

The 4 P’s of Markering

The marketing mix includes four basic marketing strategies called the four P’s: product,
place, price, and promotion. These are the tools that you use to make your company
successful. The four elements of the mix are interconnected. Every company uses every
P in the marketing of their company. Each P involves a strategy that allows your
company to satisfy customer’s wants and needs.

Product – what product will your company sell? This includes the product’s features,
brand name, packaging, service, and warranty.

Place – This means getting the product into the consumer’s hands. How does the product
get to your business, how is the product placed in your business. Place can even be seen
in a broader since – where is your business located.

Price – what is exchanged for the product? What is your target market willing to pay for
your product – do you have competition, if so how does that affect your price.

Promotion –what activities are related to the advertising, personal selling, sales
promotion, and publicity of your company?

Target Market – A group of people identified as those most likely to become customers.
Customer Profile – is the list of information about the target market, such as age,
income level, ethnic background, occupation, attitudes, lifestyles, and geographic
residence – the demographics of your customers. (Refer to Target Markert Hand-Out)

You and your group will need to create your Marketing Plan. The plan will include
a detailed description of your Marketing Mix. You will need to define the 4 P’s of
your company, your Target Market and the Customer Profile. You will also need to
create a plan that will show how you will be able to increase or widen your Target
Market.

Media – you can use your choice of media to

express your plan.
Examples: PowerPoint, essay, video, posters, etc.
If you are in a group of 2 – you will need to use 2 types of media
If you are in a group of 3 – you will need to use 3 types of media.
( Each member of your team will need complete one)
