Title : Changing Configuration of a Point and Print Driver.

Problem :
When a print driver was installed using "Point and Print", the installed options cannot be changed in the
configuration tab as shown below.

Solution :
Point and Print is also referred to as Windows printing. It is a means whereby a user will go onto the
network and find a shared printer on another computer. The computer with the driver installed is now
acting as the print server.

When a user installs a driver using Point and Print, changes cannot be made in the configuration tab as
such. In order to make any changes to the configuration, the properties of the computer that is acting as
the print server will be where any changes are made.

Title : Microsoft Graphics Device Interface and Office Applications..

Question :
Are Office applications considered to be PS applications?

Answer :
The output from Office applications use Graphics Device Interface, (GDI), to accept input from and

Which Level of Move Printer Should I Use?

Question :
Which level of move printer should I use?

Answer :
If the plotter is being moved on the same floor, you do not need to use the move printer mode. Make
sure the heads are capped and use the belt mount to lock the carriage in place.
Level 1 is when you are moving the plotter on stairs or in a truck. The tilt level can not be greater than
30 degrees.
Level 2 is for transporting in a plane or ship. Again, the tilt level can not be greater than 30 degrees.
Level 3 is when the plotter will be standing on it's end. The tilt level is 90 degrees for this type of move.

imagePROGRAF and W series printers
Title : imagePROGRAF and W series printers currently have 32-bit operation (64-bit operation is
unsupported at this time).

Issue :
imagePROGRAF and W series printers currently have 32-bit operation (64-bit operation is unsupported
at this time).

Solution :
The issue occurs when a 64-bit application attempted to use a 32-bit printer driver. It is not a printer
driver issue. In an environment where MacOS 10.5 is installed on the Macintosh with Intel Core 2 Duo
processor or higher, when installing Adobe Photo Shop Lightroom 2 as usual , it is set to operate in 64
bit mode. Meanwhile the Mac printer drivers for the imagePROGRAF series and W series have 32 bit
operation specifications (64-bit operation is unsupported at this time). Therefore when attempting to
print from Adobe Photo Lightroom 2 (64-bit operation) using these printer drivers, performance issue
issue occurs. In this failure, UI (User Interface) is struck through as shown in the diagram below, and
unavailable to choose.

Title : 2F26 and 2F1F errors caused by 'OIL' on 'CARRIAGE RAIL'

Problem :
During an on-site visit to a customer who had several imagePROGRAF printers, several of the
printers exhibited 2F26 and 2F1F errors. It was determined that the customer had lubricated the
Carriage Rail as part of their preventive maintenance.

Solution :
The Carriage Assemby contains bronze bushings which require no lubrication. Customers must be
instructed to refrain from lubricating the Carriage Rail, and to clean any dirt, grease, or oil that had
accumulated. They should always install the new rail cleaner included with each new Maintenance
Cartridge, whenever the Maintenance Cartridge is changed.
