WH Questions

Also known as interrogative pronouns WH question words are used to ask


specific questions.
Who Who asks about the subject of a sentence.
Who is your friend? He is my friend.
Whom Whom asks about the object of a sentence.
To whom did you give the roses? I give them to him
What What is a general question.
What is your name?
Where Where asks about location.
Where do you live?
Why Why asks about a reason.
Why are you moving to Bogotá?
How How asks about the way or method that something is done.
How do you spell your name?
Which Which is a word about a choice of more than one.
Which is your favorite day of the week?
When When is a question about time.
When do you go study English?
Whose Whose is about ownership or who something belongs to.
Whose books are on the table?
How much How much is for uncountable nouns.
How much sugar is in the coffee?
How many How many is for countable nouns.
How many books are on the table?
How long How long can be used for time or lenth.

A WH question can be made with both the verb to be and the auxiliary verb
do/does in the simple present tense. Remember that do/does are used
when there is a verb in the sentence. The exception to this is Who is
generally asked with the verb to be and Whom is generally asked with
do/does

Structure:
Wh + do/does + subject + verb
When + does + she + sleep
Wh + to be + subject + adjective, noun, or prepositional phrase
