    Joined Hpcl In 1988 As Trainee

    Absorbed into hpcl as operations officer in pipelines department of marketing division.

    Since then following are the details of experience gained:

    1989 – 1997: Worked as operations officer in Mumbai-Pune petroleum product pipeline:

    A) Handled pipeline receipt operations for MS, HSD, SKO and LDO products.

    B) Interface handling (interface of MS-SKO, HSD-SKO & LDO-HSD.)

    C) Pipeline Right Of Way activities.

    D) Pipeline maintenance like cathodic protection, coating repairs and replacement


    of damaged sections of pipeline.

    E) Mechanical maintenance of station equipment like Centrifugal Pumps, Valves,


    Strainers and Filters etc.

    F) Fire & safety.

    G) ISO 9000 certification of pipeline.

    1998 - 1999: Worked as construction engineer in VISAKH-VIJAYAWADA PIPELINE


    PROJECT. Handled following activities during the project:

    A) Row site grading, dozing.

    B) Stringing of pipes.

    C) Mainline welding, radiography, trenching, pipebook preparation , lowering ,


    backfilling, tie-in jointing, HydroTesting, OFC laying, OFC jointing, villagers
    compensation , restoration of damaged lands and commissioning of the line.
    D) L & T were the laying contractors and EIL were the technical consultants for this
    cross-country pipeline project. Handled the running bill payments , project
    review meets with LARSEN & TOUBRO AND EIL(ENGINEERS INDIA LTD).

    E) I was the site in-charge for 144 km spread between Rajahmundry to Vijayawada.

    COMPLETED THE PROJECT & COMMISSIONED THE PIPELINE AHEAD OF


    SCHEDULE.

    1999 – 2000 : commissioned the pipeline and operated the pipeline handling receipt as well as
    pumping operations at Rajahmundry booster station.

    2000 – 2001: Posted as Dy. Manager – Projects for MANGALORE – BANGALORE


    PIPELINE PROJECT basically as project management consultants. This pipeline belongs to
    Petronet.

    A) Handled temporary as well as permanent land acquisitions for pipeline laying


    and sectionalising valve Stations.

    B) Interacted with various state government officials for obtaining timely approvals
    for river crossings, tree cutting, and compensation issues for coffee estates as well
    as agricultural lands.

    C) Successfully handled the project by dealing with very hostile locals , at times
    approaching state police for smooth pipeline laying.

    D) I was the site-in-charge for 120 km length of pipe line lowering.( 24 “ and 20 “ of
    API 5L Grade 60 pipes).

    E) The terrain includes plain lands, rocky stretches , coffee estates and some very
    treacherous ghats.

    F) M/s Punj Lloyd were the laying contractors and M/s EIL ((ENGINEERS INDIA
    LTD).were the technical consultants.

    G) Also involved in the successful commissioning of this pipeline and got


    appreciation letters for my role in laying and commissioning of this pipeline.
    2001 – Till date :

    Posted as executive operations officer at secunderabad for visakh-vijayawada –


    secunderabad pipeline.

    A) Handled receipt operations of EURO3 MS , EURO 3 HSD, EURO 2 MS , EURO


    2 HSD AND SKO including commissioning of this pipeline.

    B) In-charge of Fire & safety and involved in ISO 9000 & 14000 certification.
    Conducted Periodic Health check-ups for employees and various safety Training
    programmes for workers as well as officers. Implemented Company’s Health ,
    Safety and Environment Policy with very good success.

    C) Faced many Safety Audits successfully and implemented the recommendations.

    Overall I got wide experience in, right from pipeline laying to commissioning to
    operating the multi product pipeline including maintenance activities and purchase
    related activities.

    Our company (HPCL) has implemented J.D.Edwards Package as a part of ERP and I got
    3 years of experience and working knowledge of the same.
