The College of Criminal Justice has the obligation and mandate to perform its duties and responsibilities, by way
of training, molding and guiding the students with the following objectives:
1. To reign God-oriented attitude with the utmost respect, honesty, and love of the country, mankind and
environment.
2. To develop the knowledge and technical skills in the field of criminology and to be applied both in the public
and private sector
3. To create an efficient and empowerment graduates’ power-packed to become globally competitive and future
leaders.

Guidelines

1. This syllabus provides pertinent information about class policies and expectations. You are responsible for
reading it, understanding it, and following it.

2. You must have your own computer and Internet access to take this course (not a friend’s or the library’s, etc.),
as well as other required technologies noted herein.

3. Logging on to our FACEBOOK PAGE GROUP is your attendance in this class. You are expected to check
FB PAGE GROUP a minimum of every other day. Understand that failing to do so may cause you to miss
pertinent course information/assignments.

4. You must have gmail.com account for our Google Classroom and Google Meeting for online lecture

5. You should plan on spending a minimum of 4-6 hours per week on this course.

Technology requirements:

 Digital recorder or similar device.


 USB headset with microphone.
 A computer with an updated operating system (e.g. Windows) and an Internet browser (e.g.

IMPORTANT: 1. I am the course facilitator. I guide you and help you


through course material and answer questions about course subject
matter. I am not Tech Support. (Keep reading!)

Office Hours and Email Protocol:

 My on-campus office hours are by appointment .


 My distance office hours will be held via our FBGT Group. I will open a post on FB and invite
questions and discussion in real time.
30 hr. Window for Emails & Messages: Sunday through Thursday, I will respond to
emails/messages within 24-30 hours (usually much faster, but understand that the window is up
to 30 hours) - hence the importance of NOT procrastinating. Getting a response over the
weekend will be hit-or-miss depending on what I’m doing. You know what is due well in
advance; it’s your responsibility to stay on schedule and prioritize your time. Don’t wait until the
last minute to message me about something that’s due in a few hours or the next day because I
may not get back to you in time.

Course Title: Police Patrol Operation with Police Communication System

Class schedule:

Course Description: The asynchronous online course cover the organizational set-up of patrol force, it’s function
and responsibilities , to include types of patrol, strategies, tactics and techniques, patrol supervision and it’s
functional relationships with other police units. It includes studies of various police communication like telephone,

radio, TV and teletype; techniques in transmission of message thru the various media and its application to
requirements of police administration and operations, use of call boxes and 2way radio. It also includes instruction
on the use of modern electronic gadgets on the transmission of messages such as use of signal lights and flares.

Police communication is integrated in this course. It includes the study of various police communication system
like telephone, radio, TV and teletype; techniques in transmission of messages thru various media and application
to the requirements with police administration and operations, use of call boxes and 2way radio. It also includes
instruction on the use of modern electronic gadgets on transmission of messages such as use of signal lights and
flares.

NOTE: You must fully understand the level of autonomy and self-motivation required to be successful in an
online course.

Program Educational Objectives (PEO)

Three to five years after completing the Bachelor of Science in Criminology, the graduates will:

1. excel in their profession/career utilizing the knowledge acquired in the Criminology program;
2. become effective collaborators and innovators in criminology, applying professional/technical skills and
competencies to make positive impact on society; and
3. be engaged in life-long learning and professional development through self-study, continuing education,
or graduate and professional studies.

Student Outcomes (SO)

After the completion of the program, the graduates of the B.S Criminology program shall be able to:
a. Demonstrate and show knowledge and understanding relative to legal aspects of law enforcement;
b. Utilize criminalistics or forensic science in the investigation and Detection of crime;
c. demonstrate competence and broad understanding in law enforcement administration, public safety and
Philippine criminal justice system;
d. Conduct criminological research on crimes, crime causation, Victims, and offenders; and
e. Practice the highest ethical standard of morality in law enforcement and respect for human rights

Course Learning Outcome (CLO):

At the end of the course, the students should be able to:

CLO 1- Explain the deeper essence of patrol organization, operation, management and realize the basic role of
police officer in crime prevention works;
CLO 2- Demonstrate different patrol methods, techniques and tactics in accomplishment of police roles;
CLO 3- Described the use of patrol resources in interaction with the community and difference of law enforcement
in the maintenance of peace and order including the distinction between crime prevention and crime repression.

Instructional Strategies:

 LEA 3 is student-centered and focuses on collaborative learning, with the instructor acting as a facilitator.
Students will use the English language to complete a variety of oral and written tasks using various
instructional tools. The instructor plays an active role in monitoring student interaction and providing
constructive feedback. The course is run on the Google classroom and via FBGT, our Facebook group
classroom. Students will also create a YouTube account for posting a video.

Organization of Course Material:

Google Classroom course material is open and available online, as students work at their own pace; however, it
will be utilized by the instructor advancing the week of learning lasting every Sunday of that week based on the
matrix below. This format is design to help students maintain their schedule and be aware that the instructors will
spot check students work every Sunday. Whole week is Google classroom, which is when various exercises and
quizzes from that week will due.

This classroom will engage in a variety of online activities and scheduled assignments that include reading
textbook or on the internet, PowerPoint Presentations, viewing video clips, and listening to audio files.

Important Note:  Completion of all activities is self-paced; however, all assignments have firm deadlines.
