Dear Sir/Madam,
DEFERMENT OF THE INTERSWITCH SPAK NIGERIA SCIENCE COMPETITION

The global pandemic (COVID-19) that put the world on a compulsory lockdown since March 2020 has had
a couple of businesses (including Interswitch) suspend its scheduled activities for the year, one of which
would be the Interswitch Group’s annual national science competition, InterswitchSPAK.

We hereby write to inform you of our decision to defer the Pan-African science competition. This
competition which is specifically designed to reward excellence amongst secondary school students in
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) by rewarding the best performers was
launched in Nigeria in 2017 and extended to East Africa, Kenya in 2019.

After several considerations for the health, safety and general well-being of thousands of young students
and the other categories of stakeholders who are typically involved in our national qualifying
examinations, masterclasses and the national science competitions itself across Nigeria annually, we have
taken the difficult howbeit necessary and pragmatic decision to move the activities planned for 2020 into
2021.

The global concern regarding the Coronavirus outbreak and its outlook which remains highly unclear,
including travel and social gathering concerns among other considerations has made it extremely
challenging to proceed with implementation of the 2020 edition as earlier planned.

We have therefore agreed that ongoing registrations will be suspended while we explore how to address
the implications on SS2/year11 students who have already been registered for the 2020 season, but who,
depending on how the academic calendars progress, may already have moved into SS3/year 12 by the
time the 2021 season comes on stream.

During the intervening period, we will, however continue to use our digital assets to promote the ideas
upon which the InterswitchSPAK initiative was instituted, thereby sustaining awareness and interest in
the subjects of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), and also promoting virtual challenges
targeted at keeping young science students engaged.
We appreciate your support throughout the program and look forward to a return to normalcy soon.

On behalf of Interswitch, be assured of our warmest regards.

Yours sincerely,
For: JustMedia Productions Limited
