Complementary and Alternative Medicine

(CAM) For Coronary Diseases, Related

Issues, and Future of CAM
Introduction
Over the past decade, comprehensive and alternative medicine (CAM) has spread to developing
countries including Malaysia and the current situation shows that the use of CAM has increased
in developed countries even though conventional medicine is very important in the national
health care system. Most people use CAM therapies in conjunction with standard medical
care.4 However, a small group of less than 10% of patients assigned to a medical ward indicated
that CAM use was performed by their physician.5 A study using CAM among trauma patients in
the USA found that about half of the study population (48.2%) used vitamins or herbs. [1]

CAMs Used for coronary Diseases

Some of the most common and effective CAM used for coronary diseases are mentioned
below.
Homeopathy
Evidence suggests that the cost of homeopathic medicine is lower than the average cost of
allopathic products, which would be an economic factor in allowing its use if homeopathy has
been proven to be effective. A study by the National Health Service in the United Kingdom
found that the cost of homeopathy was lower than that of allopathic drugs. A four-year study of
100 patients comparing the cost of homeopathic drugs with those of generic drugs found the
average cost of keeping US $ 96 during study for those who use homeopathic drugs. [3]
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a healing technique that dates back more than 3,000 years. Acupuncture
promotes the patient’s chin restoration, healing and recovery. This energy is obtained by
inserting thin, clean needles at specific points in the body along the meridian pathways. When
most people think of acupuncture, they associate it with pain management. According to the
National Institutes of Health, several studies have found that acupuncture is an effective
treatment for chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis or knee pain, tension headaches and
migraines. However, acupuncture can also be used effectively to reduce chronic diseases such
as chronic fatigue, infertility, asthma and menopausal symptoms. It is often sought in
combination with other alternative and traditional medical treatments. [4]
Oriental Medicine
Oriental medicine helps to manage and treat chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes,
arthritis, arthritis and ischemic heart disease. Moreover, according to studies, when performed
successfully and under the guidance of experienced physicians, Oriental Medicine is considered
to be a better safety profile compared to pharmaceutical chemicals. [4]
Massage Therapy
Therapeutic massage offers relaxation and health benefits. This type of treatment is designed to
work with the treatment to address many health problems at once improve the quality of life in
general. Exercise is the preferred method of stress relief for many who are committed to health
care and health care.
Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is a primary health care program focused on diagnosing, treating and
preventing illness. Because Naturopathic medicine approaches patients' care in a holistic
manner and treats everyone, unlike disease and diagnosis only, it is well suited to serve as a
complementary therapy for other interventions. Treating chronic illness means completely
looking at all aspects including health, the ultimate goal of restoring balance and supporting the
natural healing process. Naturopathic medicine in all its various forms offers great depth when
incorporating it into complex systems for the care of chronic diseases. [4]
Issues Related to CAM
How people choose between conventional medicine and CAM is a non-specific, complex and
powerful process, influenced by external factors such as population growth, financial factors,
social influence, peer pressure, access to treatment, social culture, practice, etc. or internal
factors such as human understanding, cognitive ability, good philosophical perception,
etc. [2]
Users of CAM and TM methods choose healthcare methods that are in line with their beliefs
about health. Although economic factors play a role in these elections, the existing motives are
rarely predicted. For example, a common misconception that patients choose CAM and TM
services because they are the least expensive alternative to conventional medical care.
Although there are certain cases where the cost of treatment using CAM or TM is much
cheaper than the cost of getting standard medical care, several studies have found that CAM
and TM cost the same or more than the standard treatment for similar conditions. [3]

First- the complex and confusing, interrelated and interdisciplinary elements of integrated,
different therapies and combinations require new inventions to achieve robust, well-designed
studies; current models for understanding biomedicine limit compliance limit, also for drug
integration and need to be expanded and expanded. Second, the recent research and discovery
of important scientific methods, theories and theories are essential to further and fully
understand the broader role and claims of the drugs used, which are unique and integrated in
the context of western medicine. Third, we are compelled to address the critical needs of illegal
CAM therapies for patients fighting toxins and the increasing cost of their medications. Fourth,
creating critical understanding in comparing clinical efficacy research to provide appropriate
patient care is important, especially for long-term outcomes. Finally, a high-quality public
education that will clarify the use of research and other technologies and promote effective
leadership must be strengthened.
Thus, that after two decades of intensive efforts from the National Center for Complementary
and Alternative Medicine at the National Institute of Health on behalf of further research and
other forms, there is still inaccessible work for scientists in examining thousands of years of
clinical research questions to prove the effectiveness of complementary and alternative
medicine and provide better evidence-based, guaranteed care. [5]
May not be Safe
Complementary and alternative medicine may not be as helpful or safe as advertised because
its use may cause significant financial or other costs (e.g. by delaying treatment or causing
death). Its use may have adverse effects on patients and the community by creating false
positives, combining side effects, and delaying CM treatment and the use of potentially
reversible resources in evidence-based practices. [6]
Financial Issues
Financial considerations are rarely a major factor in choosing a traditional healer,
situation after reasons such as medical confidence, easy access, and convenience. In the United
States, the average visit per visit to a Navajo physician was US $ 388, and the average annual
use of a traditional healer represented about one-fifth of the annual respondents reported in
the survey. The very high cost of using a healer was identified as the most common barrier to
seeking care from this source. [3]
Future of CAM for Coronary Diseases
In addition to the challenges of the hope that there will be a change in health care, a change in
the thinking of strategies that will soon be formed in man-made medicines to improve health
and improve self-care and self-control to fight disease.
To accelerate this process, effective collaborations with more disciplinary teams that can lead
to higher quality, real research is essential in maintaining and appreciating and improving better
clinical decisions. In addition, targeted or alternative therapies that accept and accept the
combination approach provide undeniable power that positively affects the progression of the
disease while at the same time reducing pain and degeneration. The need for complementary
and alternative therapies will continue to grow beyond today's critical needs. [5]
The 21st
The 21st century promises an exciting time in medicine. Modern science
with modern technology gives us an unprecedented opportunity to explore in depth the
mysteries, difficulties, and disabilities of the human body and mind. As we expand our
understanding of health, the concepts of disease and well-being will grow and deepen, and we
will be able to, through knowledge, study, research and evaluate all western and orient
interventions for symptom control while improving physical and mental health and well-being.
By empowering brighter scientific concepts and renewable resources, we can improve the
prospects for a flexible medical paradigm focused on current health care and transform
medicine, thus paving the way for cost-effective treatment and improving health quality in an
affordable, sustainable, and equitable way. [5]
