BACK GROUND/CURRENT STATUS

 Feasibility Study and Detailed Engineering Design completed in March 2009 & September 2013,

respectively.

 PC-I amounting to Rs.1,328,907/- Million submitted to Planning Commission for approval on

17.06.2014 through MoW&P.

 CDWP in its meeting held on December, 02, 2015 principally recommended the Project and

Sponsors (WAPDA and Mo W&P) were directed to resubmit the PC-I after firming up of

financing.

 WAPDA requested MoW&P vide letter dated 01.04.2016 and 21.07.17 to approach Economic

Affairs Division (EAD) to explore the possibility of foreign funding of the Project.

 Ministry of Water Resources vide letter dated 20.11.2017 apprised Wapda regarding the efforts

made by EAD for arranging financing of the project. No donor (IDB, ADB, World Bank, Eco

Coordination Countries, Paris Club Countries, JICA Japan, China Embassy/China Exim Bank,

US) agency has yet shown interest/commitment in financing.
