Copies of financial documents you plan to submit with your visa application as evidence of your money
for living costs as per UKVI Tier 4 Policy Guidance. This must be provided before the course deadline (6
weeks before the course start date) and must meet the UKVI requirements before a CAS Reference can
be issued.
Students are to pay all course fees and any bank charges incurred in clearing transferred
funds.
Tyne Coast College will pay for one CAS Reference from the fee. Subsequent charges are to
be met by the student unless caused by a college error.
Full course fees must be paid within 12 to 6 weeks before the commencement of the course otherwise a
CAS Reference will not be issued. You will be asked to defer to a later course.
Once your CAS is issued, fees will not be refunded but will be transferable to a future course date.
Under extremely extenuating circumstances proven by authentic documents, a refund may be
considered. If a refund is granted, then all fees will be returned minus the deposit of £1000 plus an
admin charge. In short you will not be able to change your mind after a CAS is issued.
If your visa is granted you must attend the course or you will forfeit the entire money paid to the college.
Under extenuating circumstances, an extension of joining date may be given.
If your visa application is refused on grounds under Immigration rules, paragraph 320(7A) or 320(7B)
relating to false representations/documents, no refund of fees will be made and Tyne Coast College will
refuse to sponsor you to attend any future course.
If your visa is refused on other grounds, we will assess whether to transfer your booking to a later course
date. Deposit and balance of fees would be transferred to the later date minus a £50 administration fee.
Updates with reference to your visa application must be sent to us on a regular basis. As soon as the
outcome
of your visa application is known, a copy of the visa or full refusal document should be sent to us.
Late entrants will not be accepted past the last acceptance date. These students and no-shows are
required to be reported to the UKVI.
UK VISA AND IMMIGRATION ENGLISH REQUIREMENTS
We will be unable to issue a CAS REFERENCE without you providing us with valid evidence
of results from an approved test. Details of approved test providers can be found at the below

We are now unable to accept high school certificates, or use the fact that you have studied
here before.
For visa applications for course duration over 6 months only the IELTS for UKVI test is
acceptable by Tyne Coast College for English language purposes:
HNC/HND courses:
Overall band score – 5.5, Listening 5.0, Speaking – 5.0, Reading – 5.0, Writing – 5.0
BSc courses:
Overall band score – 6.0, Listening 5.5, Speaking – 5.5, Reading – 5.5, Writing – 5.5
(Note that you will need to achieve more than 5.5 in each category to enable you to achieve
an overall score of at least 6.0 – the scores listed above are as the minimum standard)
From 6 April 2015 you must take the test at an IELTS test centre authorised to run IELTS tests for UK visa and
Immigration purposes (IELTS for UKVI) and you must confirm at the time of registration that you wish to use your
test for these purposes.
You can either book UKVI IELTS Academic or UKVI IELTS General. Either of these are acceptable but we
recommend that candidates undertake the UKVI IELTS Academic since the reason for entering the UK is for
study purposes at the College.
TUBERCULOSIS SCREENING
We would like to advise you of the new system that the UK Visa and Immigration have in
place for testing students for tuberculosis before entry into the UK.
If you want to travel to the UK for longer than 6 months you must be screened and obtain a
certificate from an approved clinic to show that you are free of TB before you make a UK visa
application in the categories listed above.
There will be a fee for the diagnostic tests which can be found on the specific country detail
links below. The certificate will usually be valid for 6 months. If you are tested positive for TB
you will be referred for treatment. You will not be permitted to travel to the UK until you have
been tested as being free of TB, including following successful treatment.
