CONTENT STANDARD
The learners demonstrate an understanding of text media and information, and gain
comprehensive knowledge on how to effectively evaluate them.

PERFORMANCE STANDARD
The learners shall be able to produce a text-based presentation anchored on design principles
and elements

LEARNING COMPETENCIES
 Describe the different dimensions of text information and media.
 Comprehend how text information and media is/are formally and informally produced,
organized, and disseminated.
 evaluates the reliability and validity of text information and media and its/ their sources using
selection criteria
I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the learners are expected to:
 Identify the basic elements in creating a text-based presentation
 Evaluate the text-based presentation through the design principles and element
 Evaluates the reliability and validity of text information and media and its/ their sources using
selection criteria

Text based messages are powerful, it is one of the most used of information ever since, that is
why we have to be a Media and Information Literate individual to be able to create, access, analyse,
evaluate the information if front of us. Text has different typefaces that are used in different text media
such as books, invitations, etc. Each typeface is composed of wide variety font styles. There are also
different guidelines that we can follow in designing text based media in order for us to convey or
communicate our information to the readers better.
