1. This technical report describes a countermeasure for an issue with the high voltage power supply unit on several Sharp copier models. 2. Due to leakage in the MC holder unit, chips IC351 and IC12 in the high voltage power supply unit could be damaged, resulting in lighter prints. 3. To address this, Zener diode D307 has been added to the high voltage power supply unit for increased protection starting in mid-May 2015 production of the affected models.

THE LEAKAGE OF MC HOLDER UNIT

1. Model Name: MX-M264N/M314N/M354N/M264U/M314U/M354U, MX-M264NV/M314NV,


MX-M260/M260N/M310/M310N, AR-5726/5726X/5731/5731X

2. Description: Due to the leakage of MC holder unit, “IC351” and “IC12” on High voltage power supply
unit may be damaged on very rare occasion, which may make the print lighter.
For this reason, Zener diode “D307” for protection has been added to High voltage power
supply unit.
