 Write an essay about how strong linkages/partnerships/collaborations may

create a positive impact in the community. Use the argument, “Are you sure that
your partners may not use your community as vulnerable as they are?”

Community organizing is a process that involves educating and making members

of the community mobilize in response to resolve the identified problem of the
community. It is one way of teaching the community to apply the nursing process on its
own, using their available resources, allowing them to be an active participant in the
process of development, rather than just being passive recipient of services or care.

Community health nurses, as part of organizing the community, perform building

linkages or partnerships through certain individuals or groups, private or non-private. As
we all know, the whole duration of organizing the community will really cost much, thus,
requiring the people involved in the operation especially the organizer to raise ample
fund for the realization of the planned programs and projects. Linkages and partnerships
built play an important role in this matter. They will be the one supporting the
organization in the process, may it be a moral support or financial aid which is usually
identified and introduced during the pre-entry and entry phase, respectively. Majority of
those groups or individuals offer financial support to the whole process which is
discussed formally and legally before the full blast of the operation. Certain grounds and
agreements will be tackled, stating the risk and benefits that may arise in the middle and
the latter part of the operation.

Moreover, these linkages and partnerships will help boost the movement of the
community where riffle effect was characterized. One could ask help from another and

the other one to another resulting to more extensive and wide availability of aids and
resources to use from.

However, there were some individuals tend to have such partnerships due to
personal interests. Others were using the community to reach out to the locals to boast or
the so-called “pagpapakitang-gilas” to gain trust and popularity. Community health
nurses, as organizers, may not actually notice this beforehand. Undeniably, others would
eventually back-out from the partnership if there were few misunderstandings or if
his/her personal intentions weren’t met. So, it is a must that a formal communication
beforehand should be done at the very beginning. The vision and mission of the
organization should really be given an emphasis to both of the parties to understand the
essence of the partnership that will be built. A good communication is an indicator of a
successful and sound partnership that will result into a better and satisfying outcome.
