FADE IN:

INT. HOUSE. NIGHT.

From behind we see a woman and a man standing under the door
frame of the house looking out. A black limo is parked in
the driveway. Headlights on high blasting the front of the
house. A small man in a black suit exits the limo puts out a
black umbrella and walks towards the door.

LIMO DRIVER
Mr. Husband?

HUSBAND
Yes.

LIMO DRIVER
Sorry mam.

The limo driver escorts the man to the car under an

umbrella. They cross the front of the car blocking the
headlights momentarily. The man is escorted to the back seat
and then they drive off.

We see the face of the woman. A blank empty look. Tears

forming but not enough to fall.

Interior of the house is lined with packing boxes stacked

long the corridors. Imprints of former picture frames are
all that are left on the walls except for one photo. In the
photo is the award ceremony for the cycling event in the
Olympics. The woman receiving the gold medal is the woman.

We see the woman put a microwave dinner into the microwave.

Close up of the microwave timer as it counts down to zero.
From outside we see the woman walk across and sit in a chair
facing the t.v.

Dolly up behind her.

Jump cut as a thunderbolt wakes her from her nap. T.v is

still on. She looks over to the microwave dinner which is
now stone cold. She takes it over to the bin.

She walks to her bedroom. There is just a bed and single

lamp in the room. The lamp flickers. She climbs under the
sheets on one side of the bed leaving the other side empty.
She turns the lamp off and goes to sleep.

INT. HOUSE. DAY.

The sound of the doorbell echoes though the house. It wakes

the Grandmother. Sunlight shines between the shades onto
Grandmother's face. Ringing continues though the house.
Grandmother goes to the front door, peaks though the hole
and opens the door.

At the door are two people. Daughter 34 and Grandson 8.

DAUGHTER
Hi mum.

Daughter barges in.

DAUGHTER (cont'd)
Are you doing anything right now?

GRANDMOTHER
Yes.

DAUGHTER
Look I bought your grandson.

GRANDMOTHER
I'm not blind.

DAUGHTER
So what are you doing?

GRANDMOTHER
I was having a nice morning, in bed.

DAUGHTER
Well your up now so what are you
going to do?

GRANDSON
Mum, I'm bored.

GRANDMOTHER
I'm going to have breakfast.

DAUGHTER
No, not what your doing now. I mean
longer term. How are you going to
keep busy. You need something to keep
you busy until that time. Take your
mind off it.

GRANDMOTHER
The t.v isn't packed yet.

3.

GRANDSON
Mum I'm bored!

DAUGHTER
T.v? There's so many more things to
do that to just watch t.v. One week
left and all you want to do is watch
Television. There's nothing on there,
just a bunch of mindless programs to
fill in the time.

GRANDMOTHER
I'm tired. I just want to relax.

DAUGHTER
Tired? You just got up.

GRANDMOTHER
I've been up much longer than you and
besides what do you know about being
tired. You've always gotten your way.

DAUGHTER
I might have gotten my way but I do
work for it.
(change later)

GRANDMOTHER
Is is work to sell out to your
husband.

DAUGHTER
I love him very much.

GRANDMOTHER
You love his money.

DAUGHTER
No I love him.

Daughter's phone rings.

DAUGHTER (cont'd)
It's work, they cant do anything
without me.

Daughter takes call in next room.

GRANDMOTHER
Work. What possibly could she do
there to be so important.

4.

GRANDSON
Mum does something else at work.

Daughter comes back.

DAUGHTER
They need me down at work.

GRANDMOTHER
Ok bye.

DAUGHTER
I can't take grandson to work.

GRANDMOTHER
No.

DAUGHTER
I can't argue now I'm going. Your
taking care of him.

Daughter leaves.

Grandmother is watching t.v. Grandson is bored.

GRANDSON
I'm bored.

GRANDMOTHER
Go away.

Grandson goes away. Finds some old memorabilia stuff and

also figurines of cyclists. Begins to play with them.

GRANDMOTHER (cont'd)
Where did you fine those.

GRANDSON
In a box. Zoom, Zoom.

GRANDMOTHER
You like the bike?

GRANDSON
Yes. Wee.

GRANDMOTHER
Do you want to ride one?

GRANDSON
Okay.

INT. GARAGE. DAY.

We see the garage door open from the inside. The garage is
filled with moving boxes. Grandmother hums to herself while
trying to locate something behind the boxes. Grandmother
comes out with a small old bike.

GRANDMOTHER
Here it is.

GRANDSON
Its old.

GRANDMOTHER
This is the bike I learned to ride
on.

Grandson gets on the bike and pedals very fast. He slams

right into a fence/tree/fall.

INT. HOUSE. AFTERNOON.

Grandson sits in a char. He has multiple scrapes on his knee

and elbows.

Grandmother is kneeling down and applying bandages to

wounded areas.

GRANDMOTHER
Look at what you've done. All bloody
and dirty. Why didn't you tell me you
didn't know how to ride a bike.

GRANDSON
Sorry. I saw them doing it on t.v and
it looked really easy.

GRANDMOTHER
Hold sill.

GRANDSON
Oww.

GRANDMOTHER
How old are you?

GRANDSON
Eight.

GRANDMOTHER
Hasn't your dad taught you how to
ride a bike yet?

6.

GRANDSON
No

GRANDMOTHER
Why not?

GRANDSON
He's never here.

GRANDMOTHER
What do you mean?

GRANDSON
He's in Singapore.

GRANDMOTHER
Singapore? What is he doing there?

GRANDSON
Working.

GRANDMOTHER
How about your mum why didn't she
teach you?

GRANDSON
She's never home.

GRANDMOTHER
Then who takes care of you.

GRANDSON
Baby sitter.

GRANDMOTHER
Why don't I teach you? Okay?

GRANDSON
Okay.

GRANDMOTHER
And besides I can't take you back to
your mum like this. It's too
embarrassing.

Grandmother opens her phone book, fingers down to daughters

number. She carefully inputs the digit one at a time.

DAUGHTER
Hello, who's there?

GRANDMOTHER
Are you coming to pick up your son?
