The passive

It is formed to be + the past participle of the main verb

The object of the active sentence becomes the subject of the passive sentence

Uses
 We use the passive to put emphasis on the action itself
 We use the word “by” to introduce the person who did the action
 It is not necessary to mention the agent when the person who did it is
obvious or is not known or important in the sentence.
