contexts. These topics/issues include: tracing the rise of democratic ideas, understanding of the historical roots of current world issues,
understanding our rights under the U.S. Constitution, the movement toward equal rights for racial minorities and women, the emer-
gence and impact of new technology and a corporate economy.
