Mode: Full time Duration: 1 Year
Master of Philosophy in Law doctorate research program and it is offered by NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.
Admission Process
All the candidates should appear for the admission test except those candidates who have qualified UGC NET / JRF,
SLET / M.Phil. as per the Regulations.
All the candidates who have cleared the admission test, as well as those who were exempted from appearing for it,
are required to attend an interview before the Research Committee.
All the candidates who have cleared the admission test, as well as those who were exempted from appearing for it, are
required to submit a preliminary proposal of 1000 words including the hypothesis and the statement of the problem.
The interview will be on the research methods and survey of the literature.
All research proposals including the preliminary proposals will be screened through the anti-plagiarism software. If the
percentage of plagiarism for any proposal exceeds 15% then the candidates will not be called for the interview
All the candidates who have cleared the admission test and the interview will be provisionally admitted for M.Phil. and
are required to attend a Research Methodology course conducted by the University.
After successful completion of the Research Methodology course, the candidates can submit their research proposal.
The research proposals shall be evaluated by all members of the Research Committee and based on the evaluation,
research proposals considered worthy of approval shall be shortlisted.All candidates whose proposals are shortlisted
for approval shall be required to present their research proposal to the Research Committee. Subsequent to this
presentation, the Committee shall either register the proposal or seek its resubmission in accordance with suggested
modifications.
Candidates who have cleared the admission test and the interview and also completed the Research Methodology
course shall be given two more opportunities to re-submit their proposal on the basis of the recommendation of the
Research Committee.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate shall have an LL.M. Degree from any recognized University securing not less than ‘B+’ grade or an aggregate
of 55% marks or its equivalent.However, this condition is relaxed to 50% marks or its equivalent in the case of candidates
belonging to SC / ST / Persons with Disability.

Institute of Medical Sciences, is less than 10 km away and the university has its own ambulance for emergencies.

The NALSAR Law Library is one of the largest law libraries in the country, not just in terms of the number of titles, but in terms
of capacity as well. The library is a host to more than 30,000 titles covering various fields of study ranging from law to social
sciences. Subscriptions have been made to more than 100 newspapers, magazines, and journals. The reference section of the
library stocks completes volume sets of the most prestigious and well known journals and compilations in the field of law. The
library has subscribed to various online databases such as Westlaw, HeinOnline, Kluwer Arbitration, Manupatra, SCC Online,
Economic and Political Weekly, JStor, etc.

University having a stadium, tennis lawns and even a small pond of its own.

About College:
The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research University of Law (NALSAR), Hyderabad was established by an Act
of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the year 1998. The campus spreads over 50 acres of land. NALSAR is approved by the Bar
Council of India (BCI) and recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC). The College offers various courses such as
LLM, BA LLB, MBA, Ph.D, M.Phil, integrated LLM Ph.D in the field of Law.
Location:
NALSAR is located at Justice City, Shamirpet, Hyderabad, Telangana. Medchal Railway Station is 10.2 km away and it will take
around 22 minutes to reach the Institute. Shamirpet Bus Station is 2.7 km away and Begumpet Airport is 27.4 km away from
the University. Students can take a bus or a cab to reach NALSAR University of Law.
