How to setup the Gateway to work with

Hytera's Telephone Interconnect
The SMC Gateway can work with Hytera repeaters, and allow the radio system to interact with VOIP
phones and PABX’s.

There are many options you can use when setting up the telephony system within the Gateway,
below is a guide on how to setup the Gateway with a Hytera Repeater.

Setting up the Gateway

Select “Telephony” from the menu on the left of the admin page.

Under the “Repeater” tab, enter the IP address of the repeater that will be the telephone
interconnect repeater.

The “Teleconnect ID” is the SMC Gateway’s ID, please enter an ID that is unique and is within the
range allowed for your particular system. IE if you are using XPT, then set the ID between 65248-
65279.

The Secret must also be set, this is a unique passcode that must be set in the repeaters also.

Last, set which System type you are using, conventional or XPT. In this case we are using
conventional.

Setting up the Hytera Repeater

Read the repeater, and set to your requirements for channel frequencies, ID etc.

Under “Phone/Phone System/Phone System 1”, enable Telephone Interconnection at the top.

Leave the two Slot ports as default.

The “PBX Access Code” is the secret that was set into the SMC Gateway earlier.

Change “Phone Gateway ID” to match the “Teleconnect ID” from the Gateway settings above.

Leave the next 3 settings, the last parts we need to set are the “Connect Code” and “Disconnect
Code” at the bottom.

Set these to your requirement, below is an image of our setup for reference.

Next go to “General Settings/Accessories” and at the bottom under “phone Priority” click the
checkbox to enable “phone Priority”.

Setting up the Hytera Portable/Mobiles

Change “Phone Gateway ID” to match the “Teleconnect ID”.

Set “Buffer Dial Contact Name” to “Gateway ID”.

The P1 and P2 button on the portables are the Green and Red buttons on the PD785G which this
image is from, other portables / Mobiles may differ. The Number for the “Connect Code” and
“Disconnect Code” must match the ones set in the repeater.

IP Multi-site Connect setup

If you are using Hytera’s IP Multi-Site connect, please bear in mind, that only the repeater whose IP
is in the SMC Gateway’s Telephony/Repeater settings needs to have Telephone Interconnection.
The other repeaters do not, also only the Telephony Repeater will need to have “phone Priority”
enabled.
