EXAMPLE Mexican RCDF-04 CO-FR-001

FRAME – MOMENT STRENGTH USING EQUIVALENT RECTANGULAR STRESS DISTRIBUTION

EXAMPLE DESCRIPTION
The frame object moment strength is tested in this example.

A simple supported beam is subjected to a uniform factored load of 6.58 Ton/m

(64.528 kN/m). This example was tested using the Mexican RCDF 2004 concrete
design code. The moment and shear strengths are compared with independent
hand calculated results.

RESULTS COMPARISON
Independent results are hand calculated based on the equivalent rectangular stress
distribution described in Example 5.2 on page 92 of “Aspectos Fundamentales
del Concreto Reforzado” Fourth Edition by Óscar M. González Cuevas and
Francisco Robles Fernández-Villegas.
