Mysteries of Mind over Matter

 Every centre of life-force attracts those thought-things that answer its mental vibrations.

 Because we think and desire, we are praying every minute of our life.

 To alter your life you must alter your thinking.

 Every form and substance in the universe exudes a subtle attraction, powerful in
proportion to awareness.

 What a man accepts, God creates.

 Vanity is a sense of independent ego, and isolates a man from the Universal
Subconscious Mind.

 Vanity breeds a sense of personal responsibility, and personal responsibility denies the
power of the Universal Mind.

 A human being has no personal responsibility other than for the thoughts he chooses to
think. He who lives by a doctrine of personal responsibility sees the entire universe as
his foe.

 He who lives by a doctrine of attunement sees the entire universe rushing to do his
bidding.

 Make your decisions in the mind, and trust the Universal Mind to carry them out.

 Refuse to accept apparent delay and detour as anything other than the perfect path.
Don’t predict the manner in which Universal Mind should carry you to your goals. It has
the knowledge of all times and thus knows the perfect path. The human being has only a
limited knowledge of a certain place and certain time and thus, by himself cannot know
the perfect path.

 Don’t batter and rail against unwanted circumstances, but “let go and let God”. Denying
the power that guides you will leave adrift with insurmountable problems.

 A man by himself is a microbe. A man attuned to his inner Self is a Universe.

 Mistakes are for learning and not to carry around with you as a burden. Refuse to accept
guilt. God is in you, and God is not guilt.

 Do not keep examining your goals when they are not yet attained.

 If you keep projecting lack of attainment into the Universal Subconscious Mind, you can
expect nothing else in return.
  When you have created something on the plane of mind you must KNOW that it is done.
Nothing can stop it from manifesting in the physical world. Keep your faith and
conviction no matter the apparent obstacle. Look for opportunity in each obstacle.
Action of itself produces nothing. Only true action creates and true action springs from
true thought.

 The one place the human can exercise WILL is at the centre of his consciousness, where
he can WILL to think whatever he wishes.

 Take more heed to your thoughts than to the world about you, for your thought brings
the world about you.

 Be not busy or in a hurry. There is nothing to fight and nobody to beat. There are only
things to learn and awareness to be obtained.

 God moves with awareness.

 Don’t confuse what you seem to be with what you really are. You are never what you
seem to be and always what you really are, which is within you, at the centre of your
consciousness.

 Let the spiritual element rule every decision of your life.

 Refuse to accept melancholy or sadness. The universe sings and dances.

 Choose the thought. Once you accept it, the thing in its image will be yours.

MEDITATION

I DO NOT CONFUSE WHAT I SEEM TO BE WITH WHAT I

 The garden of the Subconscious Mind knows only to create reality from the seed of
thought. Whether this thought is moral or immoral, ethical or unethical has nothing
whatsoever to do with the inexorable process involved.

 Do not forget for an instant of a day in your life that you are free!

 The very essence of man’s existence is a determination of what constitutes good and
what constitutes evil and the subsequent choice of the good.

 Thought into the great Universal Subconscious Mind plus faith can equal only one thing
and that is physical reality.
 Since everything in existence is the result of thought, all form maintains itself as long as
the thought is held. As the thought changes, so does the form.

 If we know what evil proceeds from thought just as good proceeds from thought, we
can establish eternal sentinel on our minds to guide our thought in the paths of good
and progress. For, even the ultimate is not impossible of attainment this very moment,
could we but have the faith and have the image.

 Prepare a spare room for your own private meditation in SSS.

 Buy wax ear plugs and pair of earmuffs. Also use double glazing or storm windows to
keep the noise level down. Noise kills genius.

 Set aside at least 30 minutes every day - without exception – for your meditation.

 To hear what your subconscious mind tells you, you must stop the noise inside your
head as well as external noise. When you become quiet, “It just dawns on you”.

 You must follow through with what the subconscious mind tells you to do. As powerful
as the subconscious mind is, it only impels. It does not compel.

 The internal dialogue is the incessant chatter that goes on involuntarily within your
mind. Eurekas! are successful ideas that come from the subconscious mind. Stop the
internal dialogue and you can hear the Eurekas!

 Rehearse the future, just as it is desired, in your mind’s eye.

 Clearly see your desires in your mind’s eye and believe they have materialized with
feeling, belief and emotion.

 Use your subconscious mind for solving problems by defining them and then writing
down as many possible solutions as you can. Then hand the problem over to the
subconscious mind - and forget it. Let the subconscious complete its computerized
labour and hand over to you a Eureka! When it is ready. You must act on these Eurekas!
when you receive them.

 By gradually doing the things you fear, you will overcome fear. Let the subconscious
warn you of impending danger.

 Although you may be bogged down with all sorts of worries and problems you still must
be enthusiastic. Act as though you are enthusiastic, and the acting will turn into reality.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

 “Act as if” in any circumstance you desire, and it will be.

 Cultivate the sixth sense by meditating in SSS and by living a bit more dangerously. Get
yourself something that will excite you and give you a tingle of adventure.
 HOW TO USE THE OCCULT KEY OF DYNAMIC CONCENTRATION

1. Concentrate the creative energy of your mind in dynamic patterns of thought.

Thoughts that are slipshod and weak seldom have creative power. Controlled
thoughts are concentrated thoughts.

Occult powers atone from your higher brain centres when you concentrate your
thoughts to a definite focal point.

2. Sit each day for a period of half an hour and practice the art of occult concentration.
Look at some object, such as a painting or a rose; be aware of its shape, colour and
form. Mentally hold your thoughts on that object, and whenever your thoughts are
tempted to slip away to something else, forcibly bring them back to contemplating
the object.

3. Learn to concentrate the power of your mind on your body and its movements for a
few minutes each day. Be aware of your hands; feel power flowing to your fingers,
concentrate on their ability to perform many useful tasks. Then concentrate on the
head, with its marvelous conglomeration of powers in the brain, eyes, ears, nose
and mouth. As you concentrate on each of these channels of usefulness be aware of
their separate function and intensify your five senses by concentrating in turn on
the sense of taste, hearing, sight, feeling and smell.

4. When you wish some specific form of occult power to flow to your higher senses,
concentrate your power of mind on the things you are trying to achieve. For
 example, if you are trying to materialize more money, write down on a sheet of
paper a specific amount that you need, such as one thousand dollars. Then write
down what you want to do with the money. Now sit in occult reverie and
concentrate all the powers of your mind on the achievement of that money. Your
thoughts will go something like this: Money represents crystallized spiritual energy.
Creative power exists within my brain to draw upon the universal bank of riches for
all the money I need to meet my specific wants. I now concentrate on a golden flow
of riches from my creative ideas, and I see this money in my bank, I visualize myself
spending it to purchase a new car, to make a down payment on a house, to take a
trip to Europe (Name the specific purpose for which you wish the money. If it is a
much larger sum such as one hundred thousand dollars as a retirement fund, specify
this on your occult blueprint, and then concentrate on smaller sums first, gradually
increasing the sums until you are able to visualize the one hundred thousand
dollars).

5. To help you concentrating on high occult power take into your occult periods of
reverie specific pictures of the things you wish to come to you through occult
power.

Cut pictures out of home magazines of the home you want; the furniture you wish
in that home, the car you visualize driving in. Cut out photos of ships, trains,
airplanes, if you are trying to project travel around the world, and let your higher
mind use these photographs for the purposes of concentration.

HOW TO USE THE OCCULT KEY OF COSMIC MAGNETISM

Cosmic magnetism flows throughout the invisible interstices of the

universe, giving you health, life energy and motivating your every move.

To implement this flow of cosmic magnetism to your higher brain

centres requires certain forms of action which should be indulged in every day.

1. Sit in occult meditation and concentrate on building reserves of cosmic

magnetism within your brain and body cells. This is done through a
process of simultaneous deep breathing and concentrating on the
thoughts you wish to magnetise.
 2. All occult power works under the law of magnetic attraction as you
breathe deeply and rhythmically, hold in your mind’s eye the things that
you wish to attract, using this invisible law of magnetic attraction.
Repeat to yourself some magnetic positive statements, such as these: I
AM NOW THE CENTRE OF A MAGNETIC FIELD OF DIVINE
ACTION. I ATTRACT TO MYSELF THE HIGHER OCCULT
FORCES THAT CAN HELP ME ACHIEVE MY LIFE DREAMS. I
NOW HOLD IN MY MIND THE DESIRE TO ATTRACT a romantic
partner, for purpose of marriage. I desire attracting friends and a social
life which will give me interest and wholesome activity.

I desire attracting a hope of my own car, beautiful clothes and jewellery

(State the specific things you wish to magnetise, and involve them in the
centres of your consciousness. Occult and magnetic power flow to these
centres when you use this method for magnetizing your thoughts.

3. After you have set this cosmic law of magnetism into action, do not
worry about how these things will come to you. The higher cosmic
intelligence that created all things knows your needs and how to fill
these needs perfectly. All you need do is set the Mental Stage for action
by using cosmic magnetism, and you will be led into dynamic action
almost immediately. Then wail for cosmic mind to fulfill your goals.

HOW TO USE THE OCCULT KEY OF PROPULSIVE IMAGERY

The occult key of propulsive imagery utilizes the well-known principle of the active day
dream, but it is more than simply holding in consciousness a dream that one wants fulfilled.
Propulsive imagery consists in holding the dream in consciousness and then dynamically
propelling that dream into the outer realm of reality.
 Most people go through life daydreaming: they want riches, fame, love, happiness,
success and all the rewards in life, but they never go beyond the passive dream stage.

Propulsive imagery helps you crystallize your dream into outer, objective form.

1. To build the mental images you wish to externalize in the outer, objective world,
go into daily occult reverie, as you have learned elsewhere in this study.

2. Build the spiritual prototype of the thing you are trying to project onto the
outer, objective world of reality. The spiritual prototype is the mental image of
the things you are trying to create. The acorn is the seed, or spiritual prototype,
of the future oak tree. The mental need that you put into consciousness obeys
the same occult and cosmic law that the acorn uses to project the oak tree into
the outer, objective world of reality.

3. Translate all the things you want to create first into their spiritual prototype.

If it is more money you desire, mentally see money as

creative ideas, loving service, creation of beauty for
others to enjoy comfort and security; education and
culture for your children; a home background to rear your
family; travel, hobbies, social activity – all these things
represent the spiritual prototypes of money. Money in
itself is an objective force that cannot materilise until you
first create the propulsive image of money on the
subjective plane of consciousness.

4. Concentrate in your occult reverie on these objective forms. Hold the thought in
consciousness and then with a propulsive act of will project the idea to the

from the cosmic seas of infinite supply and abundance
 MEDITATION FOR REALISING THE ABUNDANT LIFE

Repeat the following meditation to help solve your problems for abundant living:

“I know that prosper means to grow spiritually along all lines. God is
prospering me now in mind, body and affairs. God’s ideas constantly unfold
within me, bringing me to health, wealth and perfect Divine expression.”
“I thrill inwardly as I feel the Life of God vitalizing every atom of my
being. I know that God’s Life is animating, sustaining and strengthening me
now. I am now expressing a perfect radiant body full of vitality, energy and
power.”
“My business or profession is a Divine activity, and since it is God’s
business, it is successful and prosperous. I imagine and feel an inner
wholeness functioning through my body, mind and affairs. I give thanks and
rejoice in the abundant life.”

MEDITATION TO HAVE THE POWER OF FAITH

Use the following meditation to help you secure the power of faith:
 “I know that no matter what the negation of yesterday was, my prayer
or affirmation of truth will rise triumphantly over it today. I steadfastly
behold the joy of the answered prayer. I walk all day long in the Light.
Today is God’s day; it is a glorious day for me, as it is full of peace,
harmony and joy. My faith in the good is written in my heart and felt in my
inward parts. I am absolutely convinced that there is a Presence and a
Perfect Law which receives the impress of my desire now and which
irresistibly attracts into my experience all the good things my heart desires. I
now place all my reliance, faith, and trust in the Power and Presence of God
within me; I am at peace.
I know I am a guest of the infinite and that God is my Host. I hear the
invitation of the God saying, ‘come into me all ye that labor, and I will give
you rest.’ I rest in God; all is well.”

HOW TO FOLLOW YOUR STATE OF MIND

If your dominant conviction is that you are entitled to all the good things of life, such as
health, wealth, love, true expression and the abundant life, you will experience accordingly. On
the other hand, if you feel that you are destined to be poor and that the good things of life are
not for you, you are placing yourself in want, lack, frustration and self-imposed bondage.

Remember, your thought has power; it is creative. Every thought you initiate tends to
manifest itself except as it is neutralized by a more powerful thought of greater intensity. All the
men and women who garner more of the world’s good reveal a wealth consciousness and a
joyous expecting of best. Everything you experience is due to the law of your mind. By dwelling
on the idea of increased good, and by nourishing it and sustaining it, man draws more of the
riches of life to himself; On the other hand, the man who thinks only of decrease, lack and
limitation magnifies his loss. The law of your subconscious is to increase any idea implanted in it.
The experience of the negative thinker will attract more and more loss.

BEGIN TO PRACTISE THE LAW OF INCREASE

Remember, any object to which you give special attention will tend to grow and magnify
itself in your life. Attention is the key to life. Think of increase along all lines. Feel you are
successful and prosperous, since the feeling of wealth produces wealth. Be sure you wish for all
those around you success, happiness and abundance, knowing that as you wish increase of
wealth and happiness for others, you are also attracting more God’s riches to yourself. As you
radiate abundance and riches to others, they will pick up your thoughts subconsciously and will
be benefited by the feeling of riches and abundance emanating from you.

You can silently give to all people you meet the following blessing: “God gave you richly
all things to enjoy, and you are prospered beyond your fondest dreams.” That simple prayer will
work wonders in your life.

HOW TO USE THE LAW OF INCREASE IN BUSINESS OR PROFESSIONS

As you quietly, lovingly and feelingly enter into the realization that your thoughts of
richness, success, prosperity and health create all those conditions and circumstances on which
you focus your attention, you will automatically create all the conditions necessary for your
advancement. Moreover, you will find yourself attracting more and more people who will
become clients, customers, friends and associates, and who will aid you in the realization of
your dreams. You will subconsciously attract to yourself the men and women who are living in
the consciousness of God’s riches.

LET THE RICHES OF THE INFINITE FLOW THROUGH YOU

Constantly affirm, feel and believe that God multiplies your good exceedingly and you
will be enriched every moment of the day spiritually, mentally, intellectually, financially and
socially, for there is no end to the glory of man for his daily living. Watch the wonders that will
happen as you impress truths in your subconscious mind. You will experience a glorious future,
even in a financial way.

THE SURE RICHES OF “WATCH AND PRAY”

Watch your thoughts. Never talk about economic lack and limitation: never talk about
your being poor or in want. It is very foolish to talk to your neighbours or relatives about hard
times, financial problems and like matters. Count your blessings. Begin to think prosperous
thoughts; talk about God’s riches present everywhere. Realise that the feeling of wealth
produces wealth. When you talk about not having enough to go around, and how little you have,
and how you must cut corners and eat the cheapest meals, these thoughts are creative and you
are only improvising yourself.

Use the money you now have freely, release it with joy and realize that God’s
wealth flow to you in avalanches of abundance. Look up to the source. As you turn to God, the
response will come, as ‘He careth for you.’ You will find your neighbours, strangers and
associates adding to your good and also to your supply of material things. Make it a practice to
pray for Divine guidance in all your ways and believe that God is supplying all your needs
according to His riches in glory. As you make a habit of this attitude of mind, you will find the
invisible law of OPULENCE can and will produce visible riches for you.

Contemplate promotion, success, achievement, illumination and inspiration, and the

Spirit of the Almighty will move on your behalf, compelling you to express fully what you
meditate on. Let go now and permit the Infinite riches of the Infinite. One to open up new doors
for you, and let wonders happen in your life.

THE RICHES OF EFFECTIVE PRAYER THERPY

In prayer therapy, avoid struggle and strain, since this attitude is indicative of your
unbelief. In your subconscious is all the wisdom and power necessary to solve any problem.
Your conscious mind is prone to look at external conditions and tends continually to struggle
and to resist. Remember, however, it is the quiet mind that gets things done. Quieten your
body periodically; tell it to be still and relax, and it will obey you. When your conscious mind is
quiet and receptive, the wisdom of your subconscious mind rises to the surface mind and you
receive your solution.

HOW DO YOU FEEL AFTER PRAYER?

You can know if you have succeeded in prayer by the way you feel. If you remain
worried or anxious, and if you are wondering how, when, where or through what source your
answer will come, you are meddling. This indicates you do not really trust the wisdom of your
subconscious. Avoid nagging yourself all day long or even from time to time. When you think of
your desire, lightness of touch is important; remind yourself that Infinite Intelligence is taking
care of it in divine order far better than you can by tenseness of your conscious mind.

You should pray until you feel satisfied within, or you just feel that this is the best you
can do for the time being. Expect your prayer for harmony, wholeness, vitality and abundance to
be answered. Long sessions of prayer are usually a mistake, as they may indicate you are trying
to force things by using mental coercion, which always results in the opposite of what you are
praying for. You will often find that a short prayer uttered from the heart gets better results than
a long prayer.

Learn to let go and relax. Do not give power to the ailment or condition. Give power and
allegiance to the Infinite Healing Presence. The swimming instructor tells you that you can float
on the water, which will support you if you remain quiet, still and at peace. But if you get
nervous or fearful, you will sink.
 When you are seeking a spiritual healing, feel that you are immersed in the Holy
Omnipresence, and that the Golden River of life, love, truth and beauty is flowing through you,
transforming your whole being into the pattern of harmony, health and peace. Identify yourself
with the river of life and love and feel yourself swimming in the great ocean of life. That sense of
oneness with God will restore you.

MEDITATION FOR A WONDERFUL FUTURE

The following meditation used daily will being you many wonderful things:

“I know that I mould, fashion and create my own destiny. My faith

in God is my destiny; this means an abiding faith in all things good. I live
in the joyous expectancy of the best; only the best comes to me. I know the
harvest I will reap in the future, because all my thoughts are God’s
thoughts, and God is with my thoughts of good. My thoughts are the seeds
of goodness, truth and beauty. I know how to place my thoughts of love,
peace, joy, success and goodwill in the garden of my mind. This is God’s
garden and it will yield an abundant harvest; the glory and Beauty of God
will be expressed in my life. From this moment forward, I express life, love
and truth. I am radiantly happy and prosperous in all ways. Thank you,
my God or Lord for the Universal Mind.”

YOUR THOUGHTS (MENTAL PICTURE) DETERMINE YOUR FUTURE

Your THOUGHTS – which you inwardly “see” as mental pictures control your life and
determine your future. They form the mental blueprint which directs how your life will be built.
It cannot be otherwise.

Every mental picture is your instruction to your subconscious to guide your life in the
direction of your mental picture until your mental picture becomes a reality. “As a man thinketh
(with mental pictures), so is he.” Buddha taught “All (yes, all) that we are is the result of what
we have thought (mentally pictured).” The latest discoveries of modern psychology prove this
fact over and over again: “People have a self-image and become what they envision themselves.
To “Envision” means to “mentally picture”. You become what you envision (mentally picture)
yourself to be. The famous psychologist, William James of Harvard, stated in this way: “Belief (an
intense mental picture) creates the actual fact,” And the famous Clergyman, William Ellery
Chaning, wrote, “What a man does outwardly is but the expression and completion of his
inward thought (mental pictures)”. You act, do, achieve or fail as the outward expression of your
inner mental pictures. Your mental pictures are completed into reality by being converted into
power by your subconscious. Dr. Norman Vincent Peale says, “think success, visualize (mentally
picture) success and you will set in motion the power force of the realizable wish. When the
mental picture or attitude is strongly enough held, it actually seems to control conditions and
circumstances.

Heed the wise proverb: “You can harvest only what you plant.” It is the universal law of
consistency. If you “plant” mental pictures of your being a failure, you will “harvest” a crop of
failures. You could not possibly succeed because that would be inconsistent with our mental
pictures of being a failure. You only could-and would- fail. If you “plant” mental pictures of your
being as remaining poor, you will get only what you plant, poverty. The Law of Consistency will
not permit mental pictures of poverty to produce wealth any more that it will permit seed-corn
to grow up to be means.

So proceed with great expectations, because your great expectations will become
realities.

When you think of a house, you do not think the word-letters: H-O-U-S-E. You visualize
(mentally picture) a house. You mentally picture an actual house…a house you own… or a house
you would like to own… or an imaginary “dream house” which for some reason, comes to mind
as a mental picture. Your subconscious “remembers” – and under circumstances can use its
cybernetic (goal seeking) - powers to guide you to, or attract to you, whatever you repeatedly
and intensely project in mental pictures on its “mental screen”.

“NOW I DIRECT THE COSMIC LIFE ENERGY TO EVERY CELL AND ATOM OF MY BRAIN AND
BODY. I INHALE CELESTIAL CREATIVE FLAME OF LIFE AND MY BODY BECOMES PURGED OF ALL
GROSS AND ELEMENTAL FORCES. I AM NOW A CENTRE OF DIVINE ILLUMINATION. THE OCCULT
POWER RADIATES IN A GOLDEN STREAM THROUGH MY BODY. EACH ORGAN IS NOW
REVITALISED WITH THIS LIFE FORCE. ALL DISCORDANT ELEMENTS WITHIN MY BODY ARE NOW
BEING PUT INTO CONCORD AND HARMONY WITH THE HIGH INTELLIGENCE THAT PERMEATES
