The following instructions assume that your system has been left powered-on or off based on the chart
on the following:
If the lab does not have a connected system, power off all devices nightly using the established shut
down procedures in this guide. IMPORTANT: Do not shut down the ICIII without first post-op’ing
printers and scanners configured with the system. Proper shut down requires post-op of these devices
prior to clicking the exclamation mark button on the MS01 interface.
Connected Systems
Not all hardware components in a Fujifilm retail lab system should be shut-down nightly. Use the
following guidelines to ensure that your lab system’s components run properly.
ICIII CPU (formerly known as the PIC) Fujifilm Inkjet printers (DLs)
1
Non-connected systems have no Internet connectivity and no communication with outside networks. A
connected MS01 system is a system that receives data from Fujifilm’s fullfilment network, sends data to
Fujifilm’s fullfilment network, and receives orders from various sources (such as retailers’ photo Web
sites). This is all accomplished via Internet connectivity.
2
These devices should only be powered off for necessary maintenance.

Note: If you post-op the system before this start-up procedure, you must wait at least one minute for all
system software to fully shut-down.
First, based on the following instructions, start-up the DL 450 inkjet printer.
The Panda interface is replaced with a device-specific Panda screen for the DL 450.
Because the printer is currently powered-off, activation interface for the printer displays.
The RIP PC (raster image processing PC) associated with the printer starts up.
While warming up, the red light on the front on the printer is lighted.
Next, based on the following instructions, start-up the SP 500 software and scanner.
14 Click OK.
16 Click OK.
18 Click Start.
19 Click OK.
1 Ensure that no orders are open in any controller on the system and that all orders have fully-
processed through the system (and have a status of Done/Done).
5 If necessary for your lab, record data (total sorts and total prints) by clicking the Save button.
6 Navigate to a location where you want to save the data, and click OK.

These include:
Resolution During the process of converting EVP templates to MS01 templates, the
operator/technician will now have the opportunity to select the appropriate MS01
product that will be associated with the EVP template.
During the conversion process, when there is more than one product that can be
associated with an EVP template, the Choose Product dialog box opens and prompts
the user to choose which product to associate with the converted template.
In addition, the operator will be allowed to choose whether or not other templates of
the same size should be associated with the same product. This prevents the operator
from having to make a choice for every template converted during the EVP Import
process.
Issue Previews of composites are not available when using the EVP tool.
Resolution A new Preview and Crop dialog box has been created that allows the operator to crop
all of the images that are associated with the whole-roll product.
Each image is displayed within the border (single-aperture overlay) that is associated
with the whole-roll product.
Crop controls using the keyboard and mouse allow the operator to crop the image to
ensure proper print output.
Issue C: and D: drive usage increases when using the EVP tool, therefore taking up the hard
disk space.
To access this feature, select 08 Products > 0809 EVP Border Template Deletion to
open the EVP Border Template Deletion dialog box.
The dialog box allows users to sort templates by name, print size, file size, template
installation date, and date last used. A preview of the template is displayed to enable
additional verification.
Refer to the Epson-specific Installation and Operation Guides provided with this software release for
additional details.
MS01 3.1 also supports installation of dual (two) Epson printers per computer on the MS01 system.
Bordered products will only be supported by 11, 12, 20, and 60-inch paper widths.
Additional surfaces will be added to MS01 version 3.1. These include PearlRoll, SatinCanvasRoll,
AquarellRoll, TalbotRoll, ScrimVinyl, and PearlPosterBoard.
NOTE: MS01’s Product Setup feature will not allow the creation of whole roll products for large format
printers.
Banner Functionality
MS01 has been modified to take support production of banner prints via the Epson printers. Banners are
single or multi-aperture templates in which photos can be inserted. Banners can then be colored printed
using the Epson printers for events such as graduations, birthday parties, etc.
NOTE: This will only occur if rendered using MS01’s Compose or Quick Print features; this will not be
supported to whole roll processing.
(Note: If you have not selected an Epson product, the Product Alignment button will not display.)
This dialog box enables you to make customized adjustments regarding the placement of the image on
the product.
The Printer Setup dialog box now displays a Color Management group box. These controls enable
users to edit the profiles, but only when the dialog box is opened while pressing-and-holding the <Ctrl>
keyboard key.
The Color Management controls allow you to set profiles for either an individual paper size or for all
sizes of a given surface. For each paper in the Printer Setup dialog box screen, if a profile is set for it, it
shall be displayed in the profile setting. If not, the profile set for the given surface shall be displayed.
Color Profile text box and Browse This control provides the user with a means of selecting an ICC
button: profile from the file system to associate with a given surface or
paper. Selection is secure and filters only on ICC and ICM files.
After a profile is selected via this method, the selected file and its
path is displayed in the Color Profile text field. The ICC profile
will be associated with the given paper. The changes are saved
when the user clicks OK.
Apply to all paper with this surface This control provides the user with a means of linking a profile to
button all papers of a given surface.
When this button is clicked, the ICC displayed shown in the Color
Profile text box is then associated with the selected paper’s
surface. The Paper Sizes list box is then updated to reflect this.
The changes are saved when the user clicks OK.
NOTE: If you would like to print duplex products, duplex products will need to be created in MS01.
However, duplex products can only be ordered from external applications such as MS optional software
(MS12, MS13, MS14, MS19 and kiosks).
Also, refer to Understanding Duplex Print Output (page 40) to understand how these two-sided products
come out of a printer. This affects how you assemble the product.

Queue tab:
The Queue tab shall be updated to
indicate Duplex along with the
surface for duplex papers.
Routing tab:
The Routing tab shall be updated to
indicate Duplex for duplex papers.
The dialog box has been added to allow the setting of the separator
sheet style for the DL 450 printer. A Sort Limit (meaning sort count)
can be set, and Separator options include None, Promo Print,
Summary Sheet, and Index Print. By default, the Enabled radio
button is selected.
The separator sheet specified in this dialog box shall be generated at the end of each print set. For
example, if a sort limit of 30 is specified and an order with 50 images is processed, separator sheets shall
be generated at the thirtieth and fiftieth prints. The rendering code ensure that only even-numbered
duplex jobs are produced, so that the separator sheet won’t be printed on the back of a customer print.
