The document describes an experiment where baking soda and vinegar are mixed together. The student hypothesized that the mixture would fizz up and may have a smell, but did not know how much fizzing would occur. When the baking soda and vinegar were combined, it started fizzing slowly and then erupted quickly, releasing carbon dioxide bubbles. The student concluded that the overspilling fizzing reaction occurred due to the release of carbon dioxide from the mixing of the two ingredients.

reaction it is and why exactly it fizzes and over spills when mixing the two together. That’s why I picked this experiment because I do not know much on what reaction it is and why it reacts like that. Hypothesis • I know it will fizz up, but I don’t know exactly how much it will fizz up, also I don’t know if it will have a smell to it or if the smell of the vinegar would be stronger. From previous knowledge all I know is that there will be some type of reaction when mixing both items together. Materials • A cup • Baking soda • Vinegar of any kind Procedure Step 1. Gather all the items for your project. Step 2. Pour baking soda in the cup (doesn’t really matter how much). Step 3. P[our vinegar in the cup with the baking soda. Step 4. Watch the reaction you get. Results/Data • The results were interesting to watch it started fizzing up slowly and out of nowhere it just erupted this experiment would be useful if anyone wants to make a volcano for a project to cause an eruption, they can easily use these two ingredients. CONCLUSION Overall what I learned while doing this project is how and why we get that type of reaction from the items that were used. As I continued to gather research before conducting the experiment, I came across some articles that claimed the reason we get that reaction is because both of the ingredients release carbon dioxide. Which is the main reason that the bubbles form and expand due to the reaction it is having when mixing both together.
