A. Direction: After learning the lesson, provide your analysis of the
importance of event management in tourism.
It is really important to have a proper event management planning because it is really vital for
any successful events. It also documents how all the elements are working in a different distinct
parts and how it will work and the result of the event being safe or enjoyable.

B. Direction: When one of the elements of the event is not met, how do you
think it will affect the event? Write your answer on the space provided.
For an event to have a successful it requires a clear and well planned concept
which all event planner should consider. When one element is lacking it might
affect the whole plan or event. It will bring a disaster that we don’t want to happen.
Having a solid plan and well-constructed event might help to lessen this types of
tragedy.

A Direction: As a tourism student, how will you respond to the present challenges the
MICE industry is facing? Elaborate on your answer and write it on the space provided
In today’s worldwide pandemic that the world is suffering right now. The tourism industry
is among the sectors that have been greatly affected by this pandemic. From closing the
borders, airports, hotels as well as the tight restriction of mass gatherings, meeting people
that we usually do before. There is significant impact on the business operations and our
economy is falling down.

B Direction: With the current problems the MICE industry is facing, what things that exist
pre-COVID-19 which no longer practice by the events industry now. What are the new practices
observe now in the events industry? Give 2 answers to each question and explain your answer.

SOCIAL DISTANCING – this is properly observed whenever we go nowadays. It is
kind of new for us to maintain A distance towards other people because, before we are
used to mingle to other people and stay close with them.

VIRTUAL EVENTS - Over the past few weeks, a significant number of meetings and
conferences have been redesigned as virtual events. Moreover, this format is perfectly
compatible with event marketing and sponsorship strategies while allowing planners to be
ready for any eventuality. 

A. The Beginning of MICE Industry in the Philippines

Direction: How do you think the Philippines compare with its neighbouring
countries in South East Asia in terms of developments in the MICE industry?
Don’t forget to cite your references for your gathered information. Write your

While the Philippines has not kept abreast with its Asian neighbours in drawing
international business events, milestones over the past decade are lifting it closer to its
aspiration of reclaiming its place as one of the region’s premier destinations.

As an archipelago of 7,641 islands, the Philippine challenge is to make them accessible


and connected by air, land and sea domestically and at least regionally, which is
gradually taking place. Compared to our neighbouring countries in ASEAN which is
better grown but Philippines is slowly keeping up the pace.

Meanwhile, the biggest development in the country’s business event community is the
comprehensive MICE roadmap 2030, detailing how the Philippines can attract more
corporate gatherings from Asia and the Middle East a decade from now.

Philippines isn’t a poor country. The people are poor and it doesn’t mean that
being part of the third world country means that the country is poor the country is
just exploited.
