The passage provides background on Jannah's parents Cathelyn and Jojo and how they met and got married. It also talks about Jannah's birth and some of the celebrations and activities planned for her 18th birthday party.

Cathelyn and Jojo met while studying at Aldersgate College, where Cathelyn fell in love with Jojo. They eventually got married, as most couples want, and wished for stars that would bring brightness to their marriage.

Cathelyn had a miscarriage early in her marriage to Jojo. On December 8, 2001 she gave birth to Jannah, which coincided with an important exam day for Jojo. Jannah's birth was almost difficult as Jojo almost lost both Cathelyn and Jannah on the road to the hospital.

[INTRODUCTION]

Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen. May we have your attention, please. We are about to begin a night with
the glitz of a sparkly soiree as we brighten the evening making wishes, granting presents and enchanting this
storybook of a NIGHT UNDER THE STARS.

WELCOME to JANNAH ANGELICA’s 18th Birthday Celebration, so please make yourselves comfortable and
let’s enjoy the rest of the evening.

A very starry evening to each and everyone. We would like to thank everyone for gracing this very momentous
occasion because as they say, you only get to be 18 once.

[ENTOURAGE]
So, with no much ado, let us all acknowledge the key persons behind the making of this joyous affair possible.

But before we make everything into set, allow us to give you a little background how an Angel came into life
with the two couple who made love that all started at Aldersgate College. Yes, it all started at Aldersgate
college, when a girl named Cathelyn fell in love with Engr. Jojo. So, to cut the story short, it ended to the both
parties saying “I do” and just like every couple want, they wished for stars that would probably bring brightness
into their marriage. It was a happy beginning learning Mam Cathelyn’s pregnancy back in year 2000, but it was
an untimely misfortune (miscarriage). It was a miserable beginning, but the couple’s faith keeps them moving
on until someone again came.

Way back December 8, 2001 when another sign of a “wish do come true” for the couple came kicking and
pushing to give light to their marriage, this was actually the same time when Engr. Jojo need to rush to Mapua
Institute of Technology for his master’s degree (examination day) knowing Mam Cathelyn’s delivery timetable,
dilemma caught him, yet it was with purest love and trust between the two and with the guidance of some
archangel helped them meet into life their one and only Angel. That time was again an almost heartache,
wherein Sir Jojo almost lost his two girls, not knowing what challenge is going on to his family while on the
busy road, but indeed God is great and amusing for He finally presented the couple a shining star of their own.

So indeed tonight, it is not just a night for a one star, but a celebration for all the stars that came into their lives
but highlighting to the most shining star that God gave this couple.

So, at the count of three, Mommy Cynthia and members of the 18 Wishes, let’s say “May
all our wishes come true” and blow our candles together. 1, 2, and 3…

Everybody blows the candle

HOST: Let me share another good-to-know trivia to everyone on how birthday cakes and
candles came about as a tradition during birthdays. Some believe that the tradition of
birthday candles began in Ancient Greece. Putting candles on a cake was a special way
to pay tribute to the Greek moon goddess, Artemis. They baked round cakes to symbolize
the moon. Candles were added to represent the reflected moonlight. Today’s tradition of
making wishes before blowing out the birthday candles may have started with that
belief. Enough of all those did-you-know trivia because at this part of the program, our
lovely and stunning Cham will blow the candles on her birthday cake. And to complete that
customary practice, let us all sing joyfully a song I am very sure everybody is familiar with,
the happy birthday song!

Debutant makes a wish and blows the candles.

HOST: Tonight’s celebration tells me that the best demonstration of gratitude in response
to a wonderful experience like this one can be contained in an overwhelming thank you.
Maraming salamat po for making me a part of this memorable occasion. And if there’s one
person here tonight who is more than grateful to see all of you, that would be our beloved
celebrant, Cham. I’m giving the floor to our dear debutant to give her message for all of
us.

Thank you message from Cham
