Teacher's Role In Society

Introduction
► Role of teacher is importance not only in the classroom but also in society. The teacher is
responsible to obtain and give the knowledge and skills from their generation to give to the
generation coming. Doing so, the teacher ensures the survival of human and its life. In fact, by
their training and dedication, teacher becomes the key to quality education. Knowledge such as
wisdom, moral and ethical values can be learnt though teacher. To ensure the correct
development of their students, the teacher can first ensure each student are having the proper
education in a safe environment, another method is to provide teaching and that the learning
method taught is efficient, third is to increase the students ' self-esteem and personal
confidence, finally is to prepare students with the necessary knowledge, character and skills for
higher education and to live in society.
► Achieving the skills mentioned above, a teacher needs to act as a manager in the classroom to
help students. There are some set of managerial skills that teacher should be equipped with,
such as, leadership, conflict resolution, information processing, decision making, resource
allocation and so on.
► The role of a teacher is important since they need to act as a leader in their classroom. This skill
is concerned with the ability of the teacher to motivate and help students and at the same time,
to deal with their problems effectively. Motivation can be defined as a force that awakes a
person from their sleepy mode
WHAT A MODERN TEACHER SHOULD BE LIKE
► As it has been already said, a modern teacher is a mentor. This should be a person with a vision
and determination to dedicate themselves to educating the future generation. It is not enough
to deliver information, as all information now can be found online. The main teacher’s job is to
show how to use this information and why to use it. Below is the list of main qualities a modern
teacher should have.
► A great teacher should be determined to their goal. The goal is to assure that students get the
education and understand why they need it. A teacher without a passion cannot succeed, as only
passion can sparkle the interest in student’s minds.
► Adapted to change. Nowadays everything is changing in seconds. For this reason, teaching
methods are becoming old and need to be revised. A great teacher should constantly adapt to
change in a society and particularly adapt to the way young learners perceive the world.
► Self-development. A modern teacher cannot allow themselves to stop learning. If you want to
keep up with development of the world, and if you want to be a great teacher, you should never
stop learning.
► Open to feedback. Teachers should be open to comments on their methods and strategy. This
can help them to see the weaknesses and avoid them in future.
TEACHER PLAYS A KEY ROLE IN STUDENTS’ LIFE
► It is often believed that a student’s interest in education has much to do with a teacher. A good
teacher shows the students what they can do and what they need to learn to do what they
cannot do at the moment. Teaching should be gradual, letting the students see their progress in
achieving higher and higher levels.
► Not only a teacher needs to deliver the information, but they also need to help students see
their future prospects. Teachers should encourage students. Learners should feel free to open
discussions and present their points of view. In the long run, a teacher needs to inform students
about different possibilities open to them at college. Learners often do not know what is best
for them.
► The teacher’s role in students’ life is also defined as psychological. A teacher is also an educator
and psychologist who has to read children emotions. A teacher should help students overcome
their fears. Teachers shape learners’ mind and the way they see the world. A good teacher can
inspire, while a bad one can kill the inspiration. For this reason, the role of a teacher is even
more significant than we can imagine
Some of these roles are performed in the school,

The Importance of Teachers in Our Society
► In many professions, it’s easy to overstate the importance of the job. But in the case of our
educators, it’s more likely that people will underestimate the importance of teachers in our
society.

► For those who have dedicated their lives to teaching others, it’s good to reflect on the vital
importance well-educated, quality teachers play in shaping the world around us.

► Taking on the task of shaping young minds is a big responsibility. To say that teachers can
change lives is not an exaggeration.
Importance of Teachers as Role Models
► It’s interesting that so much public debate centers around celebrities, athletes and even
politicians serving as role models. The truth is, outside of their own home, one of the biggest
role models in a young person’s life is standing at the front of the classroom.

► Teachers are people to look up to and emulate. Nearly everyone has a teacher (in many cases,
quite a few teachers) who they admired and who provided them with an example of how to
conduct themselves.
Power of Education
► Teaching students information in a way that they will remember and put to use is one of the
greatest gifts anyone can give to another person. Doing so opens students’ eyes to new ways of
looking at life. While so much emphasis today is on learning the hard skills necessary to excel in
a certain profession – particularly in the postsecondary environment – much of the “life-changing
stuff” happens in the younger years as children accumulate knowledge at the hands of a good
teacher.
Guidance
► Yes, schools have guidance counselors. But almost every teacher will find themselves
approached by students in one way or the other. They seek advice on everything from academic
interests to issues related to their personal lives. Within the classroom, teachers also serve as a
sounding board for students’ thoughts on everything from historical events to the meaning found
in a literary work. Teachers also provide guidance on pursuing higher education and
participating in events that encourage growth in a young person. The importance of teachers as
guides for children as they consider furthering their education is immeasurable.
Dedication
► The best teachers also inspire their students to work harder and push themselves. They
encourage students to understand the importance of dedicating themselves to passion projects
or endeavors. And success builds upon success. The more a student pushes themselves to
accomplish their goals, the more they realize what they are capable of doing.

► Teaching can be a tough, complex job. As with any profession, there are days that are hard to
get through. But for those who have committed their lives to the profession, they are joining the
ranks of some of the brightest minds – and most important people – that students will come
across in their lives.
