which the property is measured and the usual symbol of pressure, temperature volume,
and energy.
b. Explain what is meant by absolute quantities, specific quantities, intensive values and
extensive values

DIRECTIONS: Solve the following problems and show your solution.

Problems:

1. Calculate the density of a rectangular prism made of metal. The dimensions of the prism are: 5 cm
by 4 cm by 5 cm. The metal has a mass of 50 grams.
2. The excavator bucket capacity is 0.5 m 3. Determine the mass of sand that the excavator picks up.
The sand density is 1650 kg/m3.
3. The water barrel has a weight of 52 kg. When we pour a quarter of the water, the weight of the barrel
is reduced to 40 kg. Determine the weight of the empty barrel.
4. An unknown fluid in a 1 liter beaker has a mass of 3 kg.  Determine the density, the specific volume,
the and specific weight of the fluid.
