My Life as an Amur Leopard

In my previous life, I was an amur leopard. Reincarnation is having a

person or animal’s soul being reborn. Amur leopards are awesome, better

than humans in a certain way. We leopards get to run around freely, going

up to 37 miles per hour! Unlike humans, the amur leopard has really thick

fur. Our thick fur grows about 1.9 inches more in the winter, showing the

beautiful rosettes covering every inch of their body. Running around freely

is very enjoyable. Although humans have consensus thoughts about us

being dangerous and wanting our fur, we are one of the most beautiful

creatures out there.

I have a recurring nightmare. In this nightmare, I was being tackled

by three humans. They were far away minding their own business, or so I

thought. I went in my cave, getting ready to sleep. Next thing I know the

three humans were on top of me. Trying to escape, I clawed them, biting

their arms as much as I can to get away. Next thing I knew I was

tranquilized. I dropped dead asleep, still feeling their arms around me,

carrying me somewhere. Waking up from the pain, I was in a cage. The

subtleties of the humans were so clear in my eyes. I feared they would do

something. I roared and scratched the cage for so long the human had

enough of it. Taking the gun, aiming it for my head. Drop dead. After that,

my moments as an amur leopard is over.

Amur leopards aren’t really deadly. We just stay out in the wild and
just hunt for food. Although if the humans do bother us, there might be

something a little surprising. A bite. We bite for protection, hunger, and

playfulness. We amur leopards are big, but harmless. Unless we feel we are

being attacked. It takes a couple of bites to kill a prey, but it is worth it to

get the meat. We big cats can be used for our bites, having strong

chompers to scare humans.

Amur leopards have long, bushy tails letting us keep warm in the

winter. Being very talented, we can leap very far and even high. Amur

leopards play an important role in maintaining a healthy balance of

species in our habitat. Amur leopards just need to hunt for their prey, eat,

then sleep. It’s a depressing sight to see prepossessing creatures such as

amur leopards being poached for their fur. We humans are the same as

them, hoping to eat and survive; why are we different? We amur leopards

are beautiful creatures, if only I could reincarnate into one next time even

though amur leopards are endangered.
