Background Information for Learners
ICT or information and communications technology, is an umbrella term that includes
any communication device or application, encompassing: radio, television, cellular
phones, computer and network hardware and software, satellite systems and so on, as
well as the various services and applications associated with them, such as
videoconferencing and distance learning.

Activity 3. #SKL – ShareKoLang


Directions: ​Recall stories of people of how they have used ICTs to be part of a social
movement, change, or cause to illustrate aspects of digital citizenship. Examples of
such are creating poetry online, writing blogs on belief systems, politics, or about
environmental concerns, and participating in a clean-up drive or a fund-raising for
typhoon victims. Write an ​online journal or a ​blog entry​. You can also create an online
photo narrative or a photo album if there is no access to the internet to share their
stories/experiences.
If you have no social change or cause involvement, any social event (a class
project, a family affair, a celebration) where the you have used ICTs to contribute your
knowledge to make an announcement, a meme, or a video clip may be used for this
class sharing.
Explain that such personal events also have social and cultural significance to
contextualize the student’s rich social experiences.
QUESTIONS YOU MAY CONSIDER
1. What advocacy in your professional track have you supported? In what way did
you support it? Did you use any digital tool to do so?
2. How was the ICT experience? Was it positive or negative?
3. How did ICT change the way people communicated? Compare and contrast
how things would have been done had there been no ICTs used and had ICTs
been used.
Activity 4. COC (Catalyst Of Change)
Directions:​ ​Identify local issues that occurred in your community. The local issues would
cover the following contents of the COVID19 Pandemic.

1. Financial Drive (Fighting the Financial Burden brought by the Pandemic)


2. Health and Safety (Personal and Proper Hygiene)
3. The New Normal (Coping-up with the Norms of the New Normal)
Determine how they will raise/promote awareness in their given topics.
1. Write a concept paper out of the different topics above. The concept paper
should have the following parts:

2. Introduction ​- This includes your mission and vision and a brief
​introduction of your project / campaign.

Activity 4. Integrating Rich Multimedia Content


Directions​: ​Integrate Rich Multimedia Content using your project in your concept
paper. Design and create a Facebook page to best enhance the user
experience and deliver content of an ICT Project for Social Change.
The Facebook page should at least have the following contents:
- Project Cover Page Picture
- Page Title as the Project Title
- Project Overview / Introduction
- Project Purpose
- Project Articles / Post which may include pictures, Slideshow and Videos
