1. Complete the sentences by filling in the blanks according to instructions! (15 points)

3. A noun clause is a clause that functions as a noun; because the noun clause is a noun, it is
used in a sentence as either an object of a verb, an object of a preposition, or the subject of
the sentence. Write down noun clauses as an object of a verb, an object of a preposition, and
the subject of the sentence! (15 points)

4. Underline the subjects once and the verbs twice in each of the following sentences.
Then indicate if the sentences are correct (C) or incorrect (I). (10 points)
1. The assigned text for English class it contains more than twenty chapters.
2. The new machine is processes 50 percent more than the previous machine.
3. At long last, the analyst, has decided to step down.
4. The spices flavoring the meal were quite distinctive.

5. A present participle and past participle can be either a part of the verb or an
adjective. Write down two sentences that each sentence shows present participle and
past participle as adjectives. Relates the sentences with energy engineering (10 points)

6. Write the functions of five laboratory equipments and chemicals used for completing a
process of an experiment at laboratory! (15 points)

7. Write the order of each step involved in instructions to describe a process of an


experiment at laboratory! Use the transition words, expressions, and grammar that
are typically used to indicate a sequence of steps in a process. (20 points)
