There are THREE most common ways of forming a question. FIRST WAY is simply by making a
questioning intonation, as in English:
QUESTION WORDS:
KO ( WHO? ) ex.: Ko si ti? Who are you? ; S kime razgovaram? ( To whom i`m speaking?
ČIJI,KOJI/E/A ( WHOSE? WHICH?) ex.; Čiji je ovo broj telefona? Whose is this phone
number? Koje države si posjetila? Which countries have you visited? Koja je tvoja omiljena
pjesma? Which song is your favourite?
KAKO? ( HOW?) ex.: Kako si? How are you? Kako da nađem autobusku stanicu? How i
can find a bus station? Kako da dođem tamo? How can i get there?
KOLIKO? (HOW MUCH/MANY?) Koliko imaš godina? How many years do you have?
ZAŠTO? (WHY?) ex. Zašto ste došli ovamo? Why did you come here? Zašto učite
hrvatski? Why are you learning Croatian?
GDJE? (WHERE?) Gdje je autobuska stanica? Where is a bus station? Gdje je apoteka?
Where is the pharmacy? Gdje mogu naći prodavnicu? Where i can find a grocery shop?
KADA? (WHEN?) Kada odlaziš? When are you leaving?, Kada počinje čas? When the class
begins?
ŠTA? ( WHAT?) Šta radiš? What are you doing? Šta misliš o ovome? What do you think
about this...
THE THIRD WAY IS USING A WORD „LI“ AFTER THE VERB:
VERB + „LI“ + sometimes a word „DA“
Ja se zovem Erna.
My name is Erna.
Ja živim u Tuzli.
I live in Tuzla.
I worked as a waitress.
Odjeća mi je čista.
My clothes is clean.
