    1. QUESTION FORM IN BOSNIAN/CROATIAN/SERBIAN


    ( UPITNI OBLIK U BOSANSKOM, HRVATSKOM, SRPSKOM)

    There are THREE most common ways of forming a question. FIRST WAY is simply by making a
    questioning intonation, as in English:

    You are English? You are married? You`re not coming?

    Ti si Englez? Vi ste udati/oženjeni? Nećeš doći?

    THE SECOND WAY is made by using a question words or INTERROGATIVE WORDS:

    QUESTION WORDS:

    KO ( WHO? ) ex.: Ko si ti? Who are you? ; S kime razgovaram? ( To whom i`m speaking?

    ČIJI,KOJI/E/A ( WHOSE? WHICH?) ex.; Čiji je ovo broj telefona? Whose is this phone
    number? Koje države si posjetila? Which countries have you visited? Koja je tvoja omiljena
    pjesma? Which song is your favourite?

    KAKO? ( HOW?) ex.: Kako si? How are you? Kako da nađem autobusku stanicu? How i
    can find a bus station? Kako da dođem tamo? How can i get there?

    KOLIKO? (HOW MUCH/MANY?) Koliko imaš godina? How many years do you have?

    ZAŠTO? (WHY?) ex. Zašto ste došli ovamo? Why did you come here? Zašto učite
    hrvatski? Why are you learning Croatian?

    GDJE? (WHERE?) Gdje je autobuska stanica? Where is a bus station? Gdje je apoteka?
    Where is the pharmacy? Gdje mogu naći prodavnicu? Where i can find a grocery shop?

    KADA? (WHEN?) Kada odlaziš? When are you leaving?, Kada počinje čas? When the class
    begins?

    ŠTA? ( WHAT?) Šta radiš? What are you doing? Šta misliš o ovome? What do you think
    about this...
    THE THIRD WAY IS USING A WORD „LI“ AFTER THE VERB:
    VERB + „LI“ + sometimes a word „DA“

    Dolazite li često u Zagreb? ( Do you come oftenly in Zagreb?)

    Možete li mi pomoći? ( Can you help me?)

    Jeste li vi studenti? ( Are you students?)

    Odgovara li vam ovaj termin? ( Do you agree with this timing?)

    Hoćeš li da te nazovem? ( Do you want me to call you?)

    Form a question using these sentences:

    Ja se zovem Erna.

    My name is Erna.

    Ja živim u Tuzli.

    I live in Tuzla.

    Imam trideset godina.

    I am thirty years old.

    Ovo je moj broj telefona.

    This is my phone number.

    Taxi se nalazi preko puta Omega centra.

    Taxi is right across/in the front of the Omega center.


    Ja govorim Engleski i Španjolski.

    I speak English and Spain.

    Radila sam kao konobarica.

    I worked as a waitress.

    Vrijeme je prilično hladno.

    The weather is pretty cold.

    Odjeća mi je čista.

    My clothes is clean.

    Fill in the gaps:

    2. TIME EXPRESSIONS:
    → THE MONTHS

    B,S: januar, februar, mart, april, maj, juni, juli, avgust, septembar, oktobar, novembar,
    decembar.
    C: siječanj, veljača, ožujak, travanj, svibanj, lipanj, srpanj, kolovoz, rujan, listopad, studeni,
    prosinac.

    → DAYS OF THE WEEK

    Ponedjeljak, utorak, srijeda, četvrtak, petak, subota, nedjelja.

    ( Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

    → JUČER – DANAS – SUTRA

    →The preposition u is used in the front od the month or a day or an hour.

    U petak.

    U srijedu.

    U martu idem u Hrvatsku.

    U pet sati idem kući.

    → To speak of an event that began in the


    past but still goes on, use the present tense and the adverb već (whose basic
    meaning is “already”).

    Već tri godine.

    Već neko vrijeme sam ovdje.

    Već sam jela.

    READ THE DIALOG:


    Erna: Zdravo Hailey, kako si?

    Hailey: Zdravo, dobro sam, kako si ti?

    Erna: Odlično! Hoćeš li danas doći na ručak?

    Hailey: Hvala, ali već sam jela.

    Erna: U redu, kad smo dogovorili čas?


    Hailey: U petak, od devet do jedanaest sati.

    RS: Tamo pravo je trafika.

    ( Right there is a traffic shop)

    H: Dobar dan, treba mi kredit?

    ( Hello, i need a phone credit)

    RW: Dobro, koja mreža?

    ( Okay, which network ( provider))

    H: BH TELECOM7

    RW: Dobro. Recite mi broj.

    ( Ok, tell me the number)

    H: Izvinite, znate li gdje se nalazi internet kafić?

    RS: Ima jedan ali je daleko odavde.

    H.: Možete li mi dati adresu?

    RS: Naravno. Adresa je Ulica Pašage Mandžića 45.

    H,: Hvala vam.
