    Chapter 3

    RESEARCH METHOD

    This study presents the discussion on the research methodology of

    the study, the subjects, sampling technique, research instrument,

    procedure of data gathering, and treatment that will be used for accurate

    data analysis and interpretation.

    Research Design

    This section specifies what method of research will be used.

    Historical design is to collect, verify, and synthesize evidence from past to

    establish facts that defend or refute a hypothesis.

    Locale of the Study

    This section specifies where the study will be conducted.

    Barangay Tambacan is one of the 44 barangays of Iligan city. It

    has a total land area of about 48.1 hectares and subdivided into 12

    puroks. Its population is 17,616 as of May 23, 2015.


    The Respondents

    This section specifies the person involved on the research study.

    The parents and their children who will be interviewed and asked to fill

    out a questionnaire are the respondents of the study. The number of

    respondents will be 10, the respondents will be parents and their

    children who are blood-related.

    Sampling Procedure
    This section specifies the sampling technique or methods will be

    used in conducting the study.

    Non-probability sampling is a sampling method which does not specify

    the probability of selection of elements in the population. The sampling

    methods will be used is purposive sampling.

    Purposive sampling, also known as judgmental, selective or subjective

    sampling method relies on the judgement of the researcher when it

    comes to selecting units.

    Data Gathering Method

    This section specifies the procedures used in gathering the data.

    The data gathering procedure will be interview and questionnaires. To

    administrate this, the researchers will a respondents, the researchers

    will make sure that the respondents is under their qualifications. After

    that, the researchers will get the demographic profile of the respondents

    through interview and answer the SOP through questionnaire.

    Instrument Used

    The instrument used to gather data are questionnaire and

    interview. The contents of the instrument are the demographic profile of

    the respondents and the main question and the sub-question.
