    Section 16(2) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 (Act 85 of 1993)
    Assigning of Duties: Section 16.1 to Section 16.2

    I, ______Barry Le Roux___________________________________ the Chief Executive Officer

    being the Section 16(1) in terms of the OHSAct, 85 of 1993.

    The Occupational Health and Safety Act, Section 16.(1), requires me to ensure that the company complies
    with the provisions of the Act and applicable Regulations.
    In terms of Section 16.(2), I hereby appoint you:

    ________Grant Fryer_____________________________________________________________________

    as the section 16.2 appointee for the following area of responsibility – Mtech SA – Laser Park, Honeydew

    and assign the following duties:

    1. To familiarize yourself with the requirement of the Act and applicable Regulations.
    2. To ensure that you comply with these requirements at each workplace under your control.
    3. To ensure that managers, supervisors and health and safety representatives are appointed with their
    duties and responsibilities in terms of the Act and Regulations clearly defined.
    4. To ensure that each member of your staff is adequately qualified and trained to perform their work in
    a safe and healthy manner.
    5. To ensure that all accidents and incidents are properly investigated by trained persons who have
    been designated to perform this task.
    6. To represent the employer at every meeting of the Health and Safety Committee established for
    each workplace under your control.
    7. To perform quarterly health and safety audits at each workplace under your control to ensure
    compliance with the Act and Regulations.
    8. To report back to me when you are unable to comply with the above duties or any other requirement
    of the Act or Regulations.
