violence in our society, especially among children. Others believe that children's
peer groups and parental role models are a much more powerful influence on
children's behavior.
Write a response in which you discuss which view more closely aligns with your own

supporting your position, you should address both of the views presented above.
Answer :-
The speaker says that some people believe that children's peer groups and parental role models are a
much more influence on the children's behaviour. I completely agree with this fact and believe that
peers and parents have a huge role in influencing the behaviour of children. on the other hand
increasing violence in the media could possibly play a secondary role in influencing behaviour of
children.
Nowadays, schooling has become a very essential part of student's life. children meet many students
during their time in school. If we consider a complete day of a student, 30 percent of the time is spent in
school. Here, they make friends who have varied personalities. Now there is a certain section which is
inclined towards violence at a very early age due to many possible reasons. It could be due to some
psychological issue, or agressive nature. Now, other students get influenced from this section and
indulge themselves in feeble acts of violence. So, this is possibly one example where peer groups
influence the behaviour of children.
Children spend the rest of their time at home with their parents. A survey conducted by a renowned
institute depicts that 70 percent of children see their parents as their role model. Parents play a very
important role in shaping the personality of their children. Since, children look up to their parents as
their role model they learn a lot from them and inculcate some habits similar to their parents. There are
many cases where Parents indulge in acts of physical abuse, or they get into fights with their neighbours
over meager issues. In general, children take up these traits of violence from their parents and their
behaviour gets highly influenced. Children become prone to follow their parental role model and take
up the negative traits.
The role of media in our lifes has changed a lot after the nineteenth century. These days children have
easy access to media sources. Many shows that show violence affect the children negaatively. Some
watch these shows for fun but others get influenced by these shows and start trying these things in real
scenarios. But, these shows do not afeect children at a very fundamental level and can be considered as
an secondary aspect of influence in behaviour.
To conclude, I think that peer groups and parental role models play a very huge rule in impacting the
behaviour of children as they work at a very fundamnetal role while, media plays a secondary role in
influencing their behaviour and it can be considered as additive effect.
