The story is about a caterpillar named Cody who learns from her friends that becoming a butterfly has advantages like flying, drinking nectar, and having fewer legs. However, at first Cody was unsure and wished she could stay a caterpillar forever.

Cody's friends - a ladybird, bee, and grasshopper - each told her that becoming a butterfly would give her wings, the ability to drink nectar, and fewer legs respectively. They tried to reassure her that these changes would be positive.
