aggravated by exposure to this substance/product.
See MSDS section 11 - Toxicological information.

4. First-aid measures
General advice:
Remove contaminated clothing.

If inhaled:
Remove the affected individual into fresh air and keep the person calm. Assist in breathing if necessary.
Immediate medical attention required.

If on skin:
Wash affected areas thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Wash soiled clothing
immediately. Immediate medical attention required.

If in eyes:
In case of contact with the eyes, rinse immediately for at least 15 minutes with plenty of water. Immediate
medical attention required.

If swallowed:
Do not induce vomiting. Rinse mouth and then drink plenty of water. Never induce vomiting or give anything
by mouth if the victim is unconscious or having convulsions. Immediate medical attention required.

5. Fire-fighting measures
Flash point: -5.2 °C
Autoignition: approx. 220 °C (DIN 51794)
Lower explosion limit: 2.3 %(V)
Upper explosion limit: 12.4 %(V)

Suitable extinguishing media:

water fog, foam, dry extinguishing media, gaseous extinguishing media, carbon dioxide

Protective equipment for fire-fighting:

Firefighters should be equipped with self-contained breathing apparatus and turn-out gear.

Further information:
Collect contaminated extinguishing water separately, do not allow to reach sewage or effluent systems.

NFPA Hazard codes:

Health : 3 Fire: 3 Reactivity: 0 Special:

6. Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:
Breathing protection required. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and clothing.

Environmental precautions:

7. Handling and storage

Handling
General advice:
See MSDS section 10 - Stability and reactivity. See MSDS section 5 - Fire fighting measures.

Protection against fire and explosion:

See MSDS section 5 - Fire fighting measures. Moderate explosion hazard when exposed to heat or flames.

Storage
General advice:
Avoid extreme heat. Avoid all sources of ignition: heat, sparks, open flame. Keep away from sources of
ignition - No smoking.

Storage incompatibility:
General: Segregate from acids and acid forming substances.

8. Exposure controls and personal protection

Components with workplace control parameters
dimethylamine OSHA PEL 10 ppm 18 mg/m3 ;
ACGIH TWA value 5 ppm ; STEL value 15 ppm ;

Advice on system design:

Provide local exhaust ventilation to control vapours/mists.

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection:
Wear a NIOSH-certified (or equivalent) organic vapour/particulate respirator. Do not exceed the maximum
use concentration for the respirator facepiece/cartridge combination. For emergency or non-routine, high
exposure situations, use a NIOSH-certified full facepiece pressure demand self-contained breathing
apparatus (SCBA) or a full facepiece pressure demand supplied-air respirator (SAR) with escape provisions.
Observe OSHA regulations for respirator use (29 CFR 1910.134).

Hand protection:
Chemical resistant protective gloves, Consult with glove manufacturer for testing data.

Eye protection:
Tightly fitting safety goggles (chemical goggles). Wear face shield if splashing hazard exists.

Body protection:
Body protection must be chosen depending on activity and possible exposure, e.g. head protection, apron,
protective boots, chemical-protection suit.

General safety and hygiene measures:

Eye wash fountains and safety showers must be easily accessible. Wear protective clothing as necessary to
prevent contact.
