Configuration

Two methods of configuration:

1.Dial Pad
2.Web Interface

OptiPoint 420 Initial Config

n A new optipoint 420 will come with a invalid version of the


application loaded. You must update this with the latest version
prior to configuration of the units for connectivity to the
HiPath8000.

1. Power up with Network cable to get DHCP address assigned


2. Open Browser and connect to phones web gui
must use (http://ipadd:8085)
3. Select Administration
4. Then File Transfer
5. Apply all your settings for FTP here and submit
6. Phone will download APP and then reboot.
7. Phone is now ready for your HiPath8000 configuration

n The phone out of the box will power up and give


an error about an Invalid Gateway Address

n Press the check mark key

n You should now see the Configuration menu

n Select option “1. Configuration”


with the check mark key

Now you have to enter the default


Admin Password of 123456

option to see the DHCP
assigned settings.

n Now you should see the IP


address that you need to
enter in your browser to
update the phones SIP

n Enter the address in your browser as above replacing the IP


address above with your phones to see the GUI below.

n You cannot use HTTPS with the preloaded software it will


be available after the SIP APP upgrade.

(123456) you will get the
administrator panel.
n Select Administrator Settings

n Then select File Transfer

Application Software Update

If it is necessary to change or upgrade the


application software of your optiPoint 420,
you may perform the following.

• Check out the version(s) provided for your


optiPoint 400 standard SIP at
http://www.siemens.com/hipath ("Downloads"
- "Software").

• Find out the current application version of


your optiPoint 420

• Decide whether an update is useful and


necessary.

WEB GUI functions

The new SIP software will appear as

password protected by default and
can only modify a few select
parameters.

Time and Date

Under Time & Date you have couple


different options for
configuration.

1. SNTP server, if you have a time


server that is visible from the
phone it can be set here, plus
the offset and your time will be
done automatically.

2. You can manually enter the time


and date plus the format
according to your location.
