A. INTRODUCTION
1. Short Description
In this module, you will learn a functional text which is about
announcement text. There are two types of announcements; those are spoken
announcement and written announcement, in this material you will learn
specifically about the written announcement (announcement text) with 3
materials: Event announcement, Missing Announcement, and Job Vacancy
announcement. Even though it is written but it can also be used in a spoken.
the explanation will be provided with a video where you can find it attached to
the barcode if you scan it by using your smart device.

2. Relevance

Understanding the definition, the distinction between talked and

written announcement on the structures of content and the highlights of
dialect, how to make the declaration, and how to report orally is noteworthy
to be learned by you as the members of educator calling. You'll be able to
improve your comprehension and your English aptitudes and competence
towards these materials.

3. Learning Guide

In this learning activity, you may watch and comprehend the text
structure, the dialect highlights, the social work of several announcements
concerning their contexts of circumstance. You may also produce some
declarations which are relevantly acceptable social work, content structure,
and dialect highlights. To begin with, you will be uncovered to a few cases of
declarations. You'll too analyze the parts of declarations to see how diverse
structures of announcements display to meet their social / dialect purposes.

to identify some information related to the announcement.
 a. Definition
An announcement is something that is written, printed, or spoken
verbally so that other people know that something is happening or about to
happen.

announcement text. Generally, several things can be used as the main topic of
announcement text, please read carefully samples of announcements text
below and answer the question following.

b. Generic Structure
After understanding the three types of the announcement, do you know
the structures of announcement text? here are the points:

1. Stating Purpose: The text should contain what event will be held or
what is the announcement about (title)
2. Stating Day and Date: The text that contains when the event will be
held or when it happens
3. Stating Place: The text contains where the event will be held, or where
it happens
4. Informing Sender: The text state the name of the person who will be
contacted or one responsible for the announcement.
5. Other important information: for special purposes, the text contains
information related to the purpose such as Price, salary, requirement,
etc.

 Here are some tips on how to make an announcement text:

1. Announcement Text must be written concisely, clearly and easily

understood.
2. Consider the main purpose of making an announcement, because it
is not just a statement, but an announcement can also increase
people’s level of trust in what you are conveying, especially if you
are about to announce job vacancy.
3. Give facts in the content of your announcement as needed and there
is no need to overdo it so as not to change the purpose of the
announcement.
4. Write announcements with short words and avoid repeating
unnecessary words, because that will disturb those who read the text
of your announcement.
5. If you have finished writing the announcement text, don’t forget to
check it by proofreading to avoid misspellings, incorrect phrases,
ineffective sentences, etc.

c. Social function
An announcement is used for giving people some information about
what has happened or what will happen. Let’s look at the sample then please
pay attention to the similarity in the function.

 From the example above can you understand the similarity? yes both of
them are telling the reader about an event that will happen at a certain time,
but could you give comments if those samples are mixed to the
announcements below, can you still find the similarity?

Both missing announcements give information that something happens

to a person and if you compare to the samples before they have similarity in
telling information about something happen or will happen.

d. Language Features
In the Announcement text its special characteristic on its sentence
using simple present, present future tense, and imperative sentence; example:

1. Summary
An announcement is a statement made to the public or the media which
gives information about something that has happened or that will happen. The
announcement of something that has happened is the act of telling people
about it. An announcement in a public place, such as a newspaper or the
window of a shop is a short piece of writing telling people about something or
asking for something.

be held on 9th November 2020 from 7 a.m to 1 p.m. Here are the agendas:
