FACTORS INFLUENCING SOCIAL CHANGE

1.ecnomic factors

The economic factors constitute an important factor of social change. Marx said that the entire social
structure of a country is determined by economic factors i.e the means of production and distribution of
material means of production and distribution. When there are changes in the means of production i.e
the material productive forces of society, it is always changes the social organization.  The birth of the
institutions of marriage and family took place under the influence of the means of production of
material means of livelihood. With the birth of family wealth and possessions became important

It provides a framework to empower different behavior, shift engagement, ensure just policies, and
communicate to maintain gains and not lose grounds. Social movement and social change
communication brings people together to work collectively for the betterment of their lives and
communities

media plays a vital role for social society. • Shrunk the size of the world. • Played vital role in controlling
population by advertising various effects of high population. • One of the best media which bring social
change is Internet

Internet impact on society is now making economic, social, and political changes around the globe. It's
obvious because the billions user, communities, cultures using the internet in their daily life. And our
actions, thoughts and communication skills on the internet is impacting society positively or negatively.

3.education policies and institutions

the role of education as an agent or instrument of social change and social development is widely
recognized today. Social change may take place - when humans need change. When the existing social
system or network of social institutions fails to meet the existing human needs and when new materials
suggest better ways of meeting human needs. Education scan initiate social changes by bringing about a
change in outlook and attitude of man. It can bring about a change in the pattern of social relationships
and thereby it may cause social changes. Earlier educational institutions and teachers used to show a
specific way of life to the students and education was more a means of social control than an instrument
of social change.

4. Science and technology

n contemporary times science and technology happens to be the most important factor of social change.
New scientific inventions and technologies always greatly influence the social life.  “The most
wonderful and universal phenomenon of modern life is not capitalism, but science and technology and
capitalism is only it’s by product.”  Technology brings about changes in the physical environment and
the material culture of each society which in turn gives birth to social change.
